Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
in the Psalms, David said, “Set not in the seat of the scornful, stand in the way of the ungodly.” See? “Don’t put yourself in the way of the ungodly like that and set in the seat of the scornful, making fun of them that are right, and standing around saying it was a form of godliness. But he that delighteth in the law of the Lord, he loves to do it, he shall be like a tree that’s planted by the rivers of water. His leaves shall not wither. And whatever he does will prosper, it’ll come to pass just exactly.” That’s the kind of a church that God wants. Blind leaders of the blind, making, in these last days, scoffers coming, and so forth.
62-0603 - The End-Time Evangelism
83 O Church of the living God, believe this, the Truth! There He is. When the true Spirit of God moves upon the believer, whatever the Scripture says, he’ll say, “Amen.” Why? It’s the Holy Ghost that wrote the Bible, is in him, pulsating his life. He don’t care who is sitting around, or what anybody else says. It’ll always divvy with the Word. 84 There is a false. It’s gourds. It’s off of the wild vine. It’s a great vine, covers all the earth, but it’s death. A lot of that’s been cast among the people. 85 But, remember, “Meal” brings it back to Life, pluck it up and set it by a goodly place, which is Christ Jesus. Whatever His Word is, let It be “amen,” to you. Then the Spirit of God, then, spiritual joy will flow like the river. “He’d be like a man, a tree, that’s planted by the rivers of water. His leaves shall not wither. He’ll not sit in the seat of the scornful or the unbeliever, or the ungodly person that lives after the things of the world, but he’ll bring forth fruits in its season.” What kind of fruit? If you’re planted in Christ, you’ll bring spiritual fruit, spiritual fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost lives in you.
59-0920 - Planting The Vine And Where To Plant It
2 Samuel 6:12–16 “And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness. And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.”
2 Samuel 6:20–23 “Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord. And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.”
6 Could there be time for a little bit of testimony right here? I, when I first come amongst the Pentecostal people and seen them dance on the floor, now, that was just too much for my self-styled Baptist ways, you know. So I said, “Looky here. Now, dancing belongs out, other type of people,” I said, “not religious people.” I hear the music go to playing, the people go to crying, and go to shouting, after while somebody’d start dancing. I said, “Say, I—I don’t want to be critical, but I sure, I’d be afraid to say something against God, that wouldn’t be right.” I never did criticize anything like that. And I said, “Well, I…But you know, I can’t get that.” I said, “I wish I could see that in the Bible.” 7 And one night I was having teaching on a chart, the second coming of Christ. And from Louisville, Kentucky, come a group of people over, and there was some young ladies, and they had, one of them was a piano player, and the other one had cymbals and a washboard. And my, they was making as much music out of that as a brass band, almost. And they was… So I was teaching on the second coming and…So then a few days before that I’d been up to Salem, Indiana, where there were some Pentecostal people, just getting acquainted with them, and they were dancing, and going on. And I got to running a reference. I found out then that dancing, the first time I noticed it, Miriam begin to dance. I thought, “Well, that must be from God and the devil just patterned it off of it.” You see? Well, then the next, I noticed that David danced when he saw the ark coming down the road. See? And I thought, “My, that’s wonderful.” And I noticed the king had made a—a rash vow one time. And he vowed that he’d sacrifice the first thing that come from his house. And here come his daughter Mir…And the daughter rejoicing, dancing. And I—I noticed how dancing was victory. And I thought, “Well, maybe I just hadn’t got victory enough. Maybe that’s what it is. Maybe just a little bit of self has to die out yet.” 8 Wasn’t long after that I was setting there and I just got through teaching on the second coming of Christ, and oh, the Spirit of God, just taking our time moving. And it was on a New Year’s night. So I’d been teaching about two hours. So we…They was all sitting around, a great group of people in—in my tabernacle. So they was going to have a special and so this…I said, “I believe we got some folks from Louisville back there,” that some of them, wrote a little note and put on there. And had one to play a special. “Well,” I said, “come ahead.” And so these three or four little ladies got up and come up, and one got on the piano, and she started playing “There’s going to be a meeting in the air.” And when she started, just raised up, started this cymbals on this voice cord then hitting the tin can down there, like that. My, it got pretty good, you know, so I—I got… 9 I—I noticed there’s a…Then after while there was a little girl jumped out on the floor there, and started dancing up-and-down, jumping around. I thought, “Oh, oh, right in my own church, here it is. Now—now I sure get…I’m ruined for this.” So I kept watching her, and you know I kept hearing here at this, here real, that lady playing on that piano till I believe if there’d been three or four decks of keys she could’ve played them. And she was playing this, “God’s Own Son will be the leading One at the meeting in the air.” And she’d no more than get halfway out of that till she’d be started again. I thought, “Hmmm.” And she just got real white in the face. And she—her eyes closed and playing like that. I thought, “Say,” I got to feeling pretty good, got to patting my foot with that girl. You know, I thought, “Well, maybe that’s just my Methodist foot anyhow.” So I started patting a little bit, you know. So, you know, it wasn’t very long till I was out there with that girl, dancing. I got the victory. Well, that’s what it takes, isn’t it, the victory? Just get away from self, and just let the Holy Spirit have the right of way. Say, “Well, it said decently and orderly.” It’ll be decently in order, just let it go (See?), the Holy Spirit.
54-0221 - At Thy Word, Lord
Note: Queen of Sheeba went expecting. she had a deep calling her.
6 But she was determined, there was something inside her, of her, moving her, the deep was calling to the deep. Something calling till she was thirsting and hungering for a taste of the righteousness of Almighty God, she would pull through anything to get to it. 57 She finally arrived at the gate. Now, she didn’t come to stay just for one night, or set in and wait till the pastor preached a little bit and said something was against her theology, and then she’d pick up her hat and go home. That’s the modern trend of it. “If…I’ll go over there, but just let him say one thing that’s against our creed, I will get right up.” That shows poor raising to begin with. 58 Then, she said, “I’ll—I’ll just go in. If—if I don’t like the way they conduct the services, I’ll take my camels and turn back.” Jesus never would have said about her what He did if she had had that attitude. 59 If you come to criticize, the devil is going to show you plenty to criticize, if you come to find fault, the devil is going to show you plenty of fault, but if you come hungering and thirsting for God, the Angels of God will direct you to the spot to find it.
59-0405E - The Queen Of Sheba
Rev. William Marrion Branham
If you come with a kind of a sarcastic criticism, whatever you expect to see, that’s just what you’ll see. If you come expecting to be just disappointed, that’s the way…You’ll get what you expect, always. If you come to receive, you will be expecting to receive, and you shall receive just what you expected to receive. God always does that. He’s—He’s—He’s sworn to His Word.
54-0217 - Jesus On The Authority Of The Word
13 If you expect to come just to find something to criticize, the devil will sure show you plenty to criticize. He certainly will. You get what you expect. Some of them say, “Well now, if I…If I don’t get it from the prayer line…If I see something like this then I’ll believe.” You’ll get what you expect. I’m expecting tonight to see the Holy Spirit come and manifest Hisself in power, pour out His glory up in this building here, many receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, sinners weep their way to Calvary, sick be healed, all manners of signs and wonders because Jesus Christ has promised it. And I believe His promise.
54-0624 - The Deep Calleth To The Deep
81 You only see what you’re looking for. If you come here tonight looking for Christ, you’ll see Him. If you come to criticize, you’ll have plenty, plenty on your hand to criticize. Depends on what you are looking for.
63-0627 - Jesus Christ The Same Yesterday, Today, And Forever
Rev. William Marrion Branham
Now, of everything that God has, the devil has a counterfeit. You go and whatever you want to do…You find like these old dances; that’s of the devil; but God has a holy dance for the people. The Bible said so. I was one of the greatest critics on that you ever seen, till God told me just what to do. I find out that Miriam danced in the Spirit. David danced when he had victory. And oh, many time—it…All of it was through—was victory. It was dancing, holy dancing. 17 For instance, in the Bible, if a dreamer dreamed a dream, or a prophet prophesied, they had a—a plate called the Urim and Thummim that went over the breast of Aaron. And when they went before this plate and spoke, and them lights flashed on the plate, God would sanction it, that it was the truth. Is that right? If it didn’t speak on there, then it was wrong. Now, look. The devil come around in a pattern of that, took a crystal ball. See?
53-1112 - Demonology
Now I wonder if you got your feet converted, you don’t dance anymore, out there for the world? See? Let’s pat our feet, to the Lord, to the Lord. You, is your hands converted, you don’t steal anymore? Your lips are converted, you don’t lie anymore? Just don’t get religion in your head, get it all over you. That’s it. It takes the whole man. That’s right. Now let’s pat our feet.
65-0919 - Thirst
101 Then I happened to look, and where the sun come out, and the evergreens had froze, that cold wind, there was a rainbow across the canyon, I said, “There He is in the rainbow. Amen. There He is. There’s the covenant, He will never destroy it again with water, He promised it.” 102 And a rainbow also is, Revelation 1, where over the Son of God, and over the Church, the seven golden candlesticks, was a rainbow. “He was to look upon as jasper and sardius stone. The First and the Last. He that was, which is and shall come.” O my, my, my! Everywhere you look, you can see God if you’ll just open up your eyes. Look around, He is everywhere. 103 I was standing there, and all at once a little old pine squirrel…How many of you Oregon people know what they are? He’s the blue coat policeman of the woods, but all noise and no squirrel. He jumped up on there and went, “Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter. Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter.” 104 And I thought, “What’s the matter with you, little fellow? I’m not going to hurt you.” So then the rainbow I looked at again, I said, “Glory to God,” and around and around the tree I went just as hard as I could go, shouting, and he just looked at me, and just “Chatter, chatter, chatter.” 105 I thought. “Did I excite you? I’m worshipping your Creator. You don’t like that? Let me show you how it’s done again,” and around the tree I went again. If…They’d have thought they had somebody out there was out of the insane institution, I guess, if somebody was…I didn’t care, I was worshipping God. I saw Him, I heard Him everywhere. You can see Him if you’ll just look around, He is real. 106 And I was around and around that tree as hard as I could go, and praising God, and throwing up my hands, and hollering, “Hallelujah!” stomping the ground around and around the tree I went again, like an insane person, but I was having a…letting off a lot of steam, I was having a good time. 107 I thought, “‘Oh, it’s good to be here, Let’s build three tabernacles.’ Let’s just stay up here, a wonderful place to be in the Presence of God, in His universe.” Watch Him in His universe, His sunset, His rainbow, the call of the elk, here, everywhere, there’s God. 108 And I thought, “You little snicklefritz, why did you interrupt me from worshipping my God?” I see him setting on this stump, where…place where the tree had blowed down, going, “Chatter, chatter, chatter,” little tail drawed up under him like that, “Chatter, chatter, chatter, chatter.” 109 I thought, “What’s the matter with you? You—you think I’m acting funny?” But he, I noticed him, he was cocking his little head down, his eyes bugged out, looking down in that brush. 110 He wasn’t hollering at me at all, the wind had blowed an eagle down in there, one…big old brown eagles in Colorado. And he was…That eagle would pick him up you know, so he—he was afraid of that eagle, he wasn’t…pay no attention to me, but he was afraid of that eagle. 111 That big eagle jumped up there, and I thought, “My! Now, I see You out there, God, I see You, hear You down there in hearing the call, see You all around everywhere, see You in the sky, see You in the rainbow, see You everywhere. But now, wonder if You could be in that eagle?” Why did He interrupt my worship for? 112 And I watched that eagle for a little bit. I thought…Now, I seen his big, gray eyes looking at me, and he look over at that little old pine squirrel, then look at me. And I admired him because he was brave, he wasn’t afraid. I hate a coward. I hate somebody to…not hate the person, but the attitude that they can stand in church and shout like the rest of them and go outside and when the real showdown comes, you’re ashamed to say you’re a Pentecostal, you’re ashamed to admit you got healed by Divine healing. 113 Oh! God can’t use something like that, He wants soldiers, He wants somebody, can say like Paul, “In the way that’s called heresy, that’s the way I worship the God of our fathers.” He wants soldiers, backbone, not wishbone; He wants somebody that’s got spunk enough and spirit enough to stand up. 114 I said, “Yes, I see God in that eagle, he’s not afraid, he’s not a bit scared.” I thought, “I’ll just see how afraid he is.” I said, “Say, fellow, you know I could shoot you?” When my voice rang out, he looked at me real close and rolled them big eyes.
62-0722 - Show Us The Father And It Will Suffice Us
