Living Godly in an Ungodly World.

New American Standard Bible (2020) 1 Peter 2:11

Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul.

Peter reminds his readers of the reality that they live in an ungodly world, They must take special care to abstain the influences of the flesh and keep their behavior excellent. In essence they must live godly in an ungodly world.

SO WHAT? WHY DOES IT MATTER TO ME?

Living godly matters because it prevents war waging in your soul. (Stop doing harm to yourself)

Living godly matters because unbelievers are observing your behavior. (Let’s give them something to talk about). See Mt 5:16

Living godly matters because judgment day of is coming. (Only what you do for Christ will last)
