Which One Is Better?
There’s no doubt God is greater than anyone or anything in this world. He’s the best! But we can debate about other things—like food! Everyone has different likes and dislikes when it comes to what they eat.
Choose sides 4 cones, run to your side, don’t make contact, if you touch someone while crossing the sides, you’re out!
Read each pair and let kids choose.

Bible Story: Elisha’s Double Share

Scripture: 2 Kings 2:6–15
2 Kings 2:6–15 NLT
Then Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to the Jordan River.” But again Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” So they went on together. Fifty men from the group of prophets also went and watched from a distance as Elijah and Elisha stopped beside the Jordan River. Then Elijah folded his cloak together and struck the water with it. The river divided, and the two of them went across on dry ground! When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” And Elisha replied, “Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.” “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah replied. “If you see me when I am taken from you, then you will get your request. But if not, then you won’t.” As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire appeared, drawn by horses of fire. It drove between the two men, separating them, and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven. Elisha saw it and cried out, “My father! My father! I see the chariots and charioteers of Israel!” And as they disappeared from sight, Elisha tore his clothes in distress. Elisha picked up Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River. He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, “Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” Then the river divided, and Elisha went across. When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed, “Elijah’s spirit rests upon Elisha!” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

1. Elijah’s Time Was Ending

Elijah had done many incredible miracles through God’s power.
God was about to take Elijah to heaven.
Elisha had been learning from Elijah and wanted to be a prophet too.
Elisha boldly asked for a double share of Elijah’s spirit and power.
2 Kings 2:9 (NLT): “Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.’ And Elisha replied, ‘Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.’”

2. Faith Fact

I believe God can do great things. (Kids jump up when saying "great!")

3. Truth #1 — Faith is Believing for Something We Can’t See

Hebrews 11:1 (NLT): “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”
We can’t see wind, but we can feel and see its effects.
We can’t see helium, but we see it make balloons float.
We can’t see God, but we can see what He does in our lives and in the lives of others.
Sharing testimonies shows others that God is real.

4. Truth #2 — We Believe God Can Do the Impossible

Kids show off cool tricks—fun, but not impossible.
Only God can do truly impossible things.
2 Kings 2:14 (NLT): “Then he struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, ‘Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?’ Then the river divided, and Elisha went across.”
Elisha didn’t part the river—God did.
Luke 1:37 (NLT): “For nothing is impossible with God.”
God has proven Himself over and over.

5. Truth #3 — Bold Faith Often Requires Action

Sometimes God asks us to do something to show our faith.
If we don’t act, we might miss what He wants to do.
Elijah told Elisha he didn’t have to follow him—but Elisha stayed.
Elisha boldly asked for God’s power and received it.
Elisha later did more miracles than Elijah.
James 2:17 (NLT): “So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”

6. Application for Us

Don’t let laziness, fear, or distraction keep you from stepping out in faith.
Be ready to act when God asks.
Live out the Faith Fact: I believe God can do great things.
