A godly life is marked by truthfulness, contentment and dependence on God’s daily provision

This is the only prayer in the book of Proverbs, chapter 30.
Theme of this prayer is integrity, contentment and dependence on God.

Pray for Integrity

Proverbs 30:7–8 ESV
7 Two things I ask of you; deny them not to me before I die: 8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,

“Remove far from me falsehood and lying”

Integrity before prosperity

Exodus 20:16 ESV
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Ephesians 4:25 ESV
25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.

Lying damages relationships, corrodes the soul and dishonors God.

Pray that God will remover everything that is not like Him.

Pray for Contentment

Proverbs 30:8 ESV
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me,
Ask God not to give us anything that would obscure His presence in our lives
1 Chronicles 4:9–10 ESV
9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.

“Don’t give me anything that may damage my walk with you”

Too little can hurt our walk with God, but also, too much can hurt our walk with God

Riches can breed pride and self-reliance & Poverty can breed desperation and compromise

God’s “just enough” is often His best gift to keep us close

Trust God’s perfect balance for you

Pray for Daily Dependance

Proverbs 30:8–9 ESV
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, 9 lest I be full and deny you and say, “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God.

“Give me only, my daily bread...”

Remind me that you are my source!
Two Dangers:

Fullness without God = “Who is the Lord”? Hunger without faith = Stealing and dishonoring God’s name.

Pray for daily bread and cultivate gratitude in every season of life

**God’s hands are bigger than our hands**

Trust God’s Hand
