1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Last week, we discovered that everyone has a Conceptual Knowledge of God.
However, a Conceptual knowledge is not enough. We must have a Conceptual Knowledge of God.
This knowledge is derived from the scriptures.
We believe in Theism, God is infinite and personal.
We also believe in Monotheism, God is One.
A conceptual knowledge of God is a must, which God has instilled into everyone, but there must be a desire to understand that God, this is what makes us religious.
However, religion is not the goal of God or the Bible, God wants a relationship.
God wants to reveal Himself to us but He also wants us to reveal Him to others.
This is going to be the purpose of today’s message.
In Genesis 1:1 we have the presentation of God. Theism and monotheism. but we also have something else that is not readily seen in this verse.
In the original language of Hebrew which is what most of the Old Testament was written in because the nation of Israel, God’s people were Hebrew people.
However, there were some sections that are written in Aramaic because of the later captivity of God’s people to other nations.
Anyway, in the language of Hebrew, God is in a grammatical number that is singular, meaning one God. We see this in English by the translator not putting a s after God which would make it multiple Gods.
However, Hebrew takes it deeper, this is a singular word but obtains a plural ending causing the translator to translate God as singular but in reality within that one God there is a plurality of God.
This is the Triune Monotheism that we introduced last week.
It is this Triune Monotheism that takes us beyond religion to a relationship and demonstration of this pluralistic singleness of God.
We have the 3 in 1 Single God.
We at Kentucky MBC believe that

Co-equally,
Co-eternally, and
Co-essentially,
as 3 persons.
You say: well I do not know Hebrew so how can I get this vital understanding without knowing the language.
That is where the reliability and trust of the translator becomes important.
The KJV of the Bible, even though sometimes difficult to understand or grasp has stood up to the tremendous scrutiny of generations of individuals questioning their translation of the word of God.
As time moves on and language changes and increases, there is always a better way to translate so we can understand better, but we can trust what was translated is true and exact to the meaning of the translation.
In English, we begin to see a glimpse into this doctrinal idea of Triune Monotheism in verse 2.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Wait, there is One God, monotheism, but this God has a Spirit that has a “the” which is a definite article. This is referring not to just a spirit or any spirit but rather “the Spirit of God.”
So, not only is God a Spirit, but He has a Spirit.
Now, notice
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
The same God mentioned in verse 1, Triune Monotheism, 3 in 1 Single God.
So far, we don’t see the 3 in 1, but we have now be shown at least 2 in 1, God and the Spirit of God.
We do not really get introduced to the third person of God until Genesis 3:15.
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
As you continue to read and study the Bible, we discover that the Law of Genetics will not allow a woman to have seed. The man has the seed.
This concept of a woman with seed is understood in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ which was announced to Mary.
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
We go on to John 10:30 where Jesus declares,
30 I and my Father are one.
Again in John 14:9-11
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
At the Baptism of Christ we see a Triune Monotheism.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
The Great Commission declares the Triune Monotheism.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
The Apostle Paul through divine inspiration of God declares, referring to Jesus Christ
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Now, just for clarification, We do not believe in Tritheism, which would be interpreted as “3 Gods”
God is One God in Essence but seen in 3 Persons.
Also, these are not 3 distinct Personalities, The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Spirit.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
So, we believe in the 3 in 1 Single God.
God the Father.
God the Spirit.
God the Son. - Jesus
1 John 5:7 is the clearest verse of all when coming to the trinity.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
However, I promised last week not to assume you know all of this anymore, but to clearly teach you
Now, let’s go back to our text.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
God now goes on to create time, space (heavens), and earth (matter).
Days 1-3
Then days 4-6 God fills time (sun moon, stars), space (heavens) (Birds and Fishes), and earth (matter) (animals, which include dinosaurs all extinct animals and all now seen animals came forth)
All of this, God says is Good.
And we see this plurality of a single God again shown in the translation of English.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
If God is One with the Unity of 3 persons, then God created us equally in 1 with three parts and persons.
Equally Made in the Image of God.
Equally Made in the Image of God.
Man is a 3 part being: Body, Mind (soul) the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part., and Spirit.
God is a 3 part being: Jesus (Body), God the Father (Mind), God the Holy Spirit (Spirit)
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Man is not a “trinity” in the same sense as the Godhead because each part of man is not equally and essentially man in and of itself.
We see this in our makeup. Although there are differences in the way we look (body), the way we think (Mind), the Spirit is either saved or lost.

Dominion means rule.
God rules over man because God created Man but Man is to rule over God’s creation because God has given him that authority.
This shows that this universe was created for man.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

It takes both the Male and the Female together to be able to Build families and communities.
God created 3 institutions:
Marriage, Government, and the Church.
We build Marriage, Out of Marriages comes Families come Governments, but only Christ can build the Church.

The institute of Marriage is established in

Procreation is full participation with God’s creative and personal participation to build civilization and culture.
God extended to couples to carry on the life-giving creativity on new human life.
Neither sex has all the characteristics necessary - only in complementary union can we do it.
Homosexuality is forbidden because it is an act of the flesh that has results in building families.
Beastiality is forbidden because it is an act of the flesh that has no results in building families.
Only a man and woman can procreate and build families, because families have a spiritual benefit to Godly Communities.
So, in the institution of marriage leads to families and families lead to

In Genesis 9:6, after the flood saving Noah and his family, God established government.
6 Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
The establishment of capital punishment is a sober and heavy responsibility. It establishes a primary purpose of government as the protection of its citizens, beginning with the protection of the foundational right to life as a gift from God.
This is exactly what the Preamble of our Constitution declares.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Even though we are equal in dignity and worth, these verses strongly suggest that we are complimentary.
God expects full participation of both man and woman in building families that will become civilizations and cultures that will eventually be involved in His Church.

I believe I am the reason God created this universe.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Are you presenting a proper image of God in your Body, Soul, and Spirit?
