How do you view God?
How do you view God?
This is a primary question we must answer weekly. I know I asked this question to begin with last week as well.
How do you view yourself?
How do you view yourself?
Our self-image, that which we think deeply about ourselves, influences how we view God and our path of healing. It is not always accurate nor is it constant.
We must let the Bible inform all things.
We must let the Bible inform all things.
A Biblical worldview is one which allows the Bible to be the view we see things from.
We cannot comprehend everything.
We cannot comprehend everything.
Being created beings it is impossible to comprehend everything.
Perception is not always truth!
Perception is not always truth!
Yes it may be our reality but let’s be honest, many of us don’t want the truth about circumstances.
Job understands how “big” God is.
Job understands how “big” God is.
In our pain and suffering we must be reminded that God is bigger than our circumstances.
Job considers himself “small”.
Job considers himself “small”.
This is an accurate view of self based on who God is. Scripture talks much about pride. It also reminds us to have a “sober mind” (Paul’s letters).
Job “changes” his mind.
Job “changes” his mind.
The word “repent” is not what we normally think. This is more like Job regretted what was said in pain. H enow changes his mind about the circumstances and gives up his mourning and state of being in ashes.
Our story is not finished yet!
Our story is not finished yet!
Let this be a word of encouragement for those of you hurting and need of healing. God has not finished writing our story here on Earth. The story of Genesis 16 with Hagar and Ishmael.
God sees us!
God sees us!
Even when we do not see him, He sees us.
She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
We have a choice in our healing!
We have a choice in our healing!
Job decided that he was going to accept what “answers” he got and move forward. Moving forward does not mean forgetting but deliberately choosing a path of healing.
God’s presence provides healing.
God’s presence provides healing.
The healing we need can only come through Jesus Christ and His presence. Job never get’s his answer but admits being in the presence of God was “enough”.
God can be trusted with our pain!
God can be trusted with our pain!
Please hear this point of Job, I am certain I have said it a few times (at least I hope so). We may say things we “regret” later and may realize in our search for answers God’s all we wanted was Him.
