Intro

Sickness Healed (vs.1-11)

Satan’s Helpers (vs.12-13)

Be sure when blessings come, there will be someone who comes by to get your mind off the Blessor and on the blessings.

Serious Harm (vs.16-18)

Because Hezekiah wanted to show off his stuff, there is going to be some consequences. Pride produces nothing of value.

Selfish Heart (vs.19)

Bad days are coming after me, but at least its after me. I have peace and truth for myself in my days. God blesses me, but there will be burdens for my children and I’m ok with that. God has cured me, but who cares if people after me are going to captivity. It’s great where we live, who cares if the people after us are going to a godless Babylon. Hezekiah is blinded by his blessings that God has given him.

Blinded By the Blessing of a Cure (vs.5)

2 Chronicles 32:24–25 “In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the Lord: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign. But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.”

Just as the 10 lepers that were cleansed, and only one came back to give thanks to the Lord, Hezekiah does not make one mention of thanking God for God healing him and adding 15 years to his life.

Of course this is a physical healing, but have you been blinded by the blessing of God curing you from your sin sick soul?

Have you thanked God for healing you? Have you thanked God for Calvary? Have you thanked God for eternal life?

Blinded By the Blessing of Charity (vs.12-13)

Hezekiah showed:

silver, but said nothing about his Savior.

gold, but said nothing about his God.

precious ointment, but said nothing about his powerful, omnipotent God.

armor, but said nothing about the Almighty.

(vs.14)

he shewed them everything that was his, but never told them who it was that gave him everything.

Because of the focus on his stuff, and not his Savior, he let a Satanist into his home. (vs.15-16)

Just because we have it good doesn’t mean God is in it.

Blinded By the Blessing of a Conformation (vs.17-19)

Babylon is going to take everything.

Homes, people, kingdom, and Hezekiah’s seed is going to be eunach’s (chief officials) in Babylon.

This is the word of the Lord. Hezekiah believes God and is a saved man. He believes God words. He believes God’s word to be good! When you think there is no hope, you have no burden, or you just don’t care about future outcomes, you’ve become blinded.

2 Timothy 3:1–5 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

1 Timothy 4:1–3 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

There has been times that God has said something in the Bible, then changed his mind about what He said.

Yes God’s word is true. Yes there is sin everywhere Yes people don’t serve God like they should. The Lord tells us that it would be like this, but you don’t have to be part of it! You’ve received a cure for your sin, and God has blessed you abundantly by supplying every need and then some, and you have a King James Bible that has been preserved by God and is perfect. WHAT A BLESSING! But don’t, get blinded by these blessings. Help others to realize they can have these blessings too!

Hezekiah heard God’s word, but was complacent in telling anyone about judgment, captivity, and the enemy that would come. Don’t sit back and let the next generation get rurnt.
