INTRO 📈
I watched a dad give a 4-5 y/o a Mega toilet paper package (like a 24 rolled package)...
Dad was concerned for the kid, but not actually assisting in the training moment
Often, we too can help people
see the light of Jesus and then they
experience Father saving power, and even encourage them to
sense the working of the Holy Spirit in them— only for them to try to carry this Mega Experience and fall flat on their faces.
They wonder—
did the church let me down?
Yep! We get a bad wrap, cause we didn’t assist in the training period
DID WE?
LAST WEEK WE TALKED ABOUT MYTHS THAT WILL LET US DOWN AND HOW WE NEED TRUTH THAT IS CONSISTENT
1. Your beliefs shape your life.
Your beliefs determine your behavior.
2. A faulty worldview causes all kinds of unnecessary problems in your life.  ~Rick Warner
Or you might say it this way...
WHEN WE DO NOT ACCEPT GOD’S DIRECTION IT CREATES PROBLEMS IN LIFE
3. God wants you to share what you believe with other people.
1 Peter 3:15 NLT
15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
So, can you defend your faith?
Or can you tell others what you believe—
does it stay the same or does your belief change frequently?
OUR WORLD VIEW GIVES US A PATH FOR LIFE
SO, LET’S DISCOVER HOW TO TWEAK OUR WORLDVIEW TO LOOK MORE LIKE GOD’S VIEW!
Let’s start by talking about Luke 12.
READ: Luke 12:1-34
PONDER:
What is life more than?
What should we seek?
Where is your heart?
Luke 12:22–34 NLT
22 Then, turning to his disciples, Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. 23 For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing. 24 Look at the ravens. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! 25 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? 26 And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things? 27 “Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28 And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? 29 “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. 30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. 32 “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. 33 “Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it. 34 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.

FIRM FOUNDATION
So how can you strengthen your worldview to live the life God has planned for you?
1. Learn the truth.
Jesus told a story about two men who built themselves houses—one on a shaky foundation of sand and the other on a solid foundation of rock. When storms came, the house on the shaky foundation collapsed, but the house built on solid rock stood the test of time.
The point of the story is this: \
You’re going to build your life either on popular opinion or on God’s unchanging truth.
If you build your life on eternal truth, you’ll be able to stand up under the most difficult circumstances.
The Bible says,
“Learn the truth and never reject it. Get wisdom, self-control, and understanding” (Proverbs 23:23 NCV).
You can learn the truth by studying God’s Word, reading good Christian books, and being part of a church family.
2. Discern what is false.
The Message paraphrase says,
“Don’t believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world” (1 John 4:1).
Even people who claim to be speaking God’s truth sometimes aren’t.
EXAMPLE:
2+2= 4 NOT 5
All day long, saying it’s 5 doesn’t change the truth about 2+2=4
Jesus is the WAY, TRUTH and LIFE
All day long, saying that he is just a prophet doesn’t change the TRUTH that he is the Son of God!
When you know the truth of God’s Word, you’ll be able to discern false teaching when you hear it.
3. Turn from the world to the Word.
The Bible tells us to not be part of the world’s value system or, in other words, to not take on the world’s worldview:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2 NIV).
The world has been tainted by SIN and it will always produce sinful fruit not godly fruit.
Matthew 7:17–18 NLT
17 A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit.
The good thing is You have a choice:
Little boy on Andy Griffin is named Johnny Paul and Opie is often learning things from Johnny Paul— most of the time it isn’t correct— it’s miss information.
So at our house when someone brings miss information to the table as if it is TRUTH
we say, “did Johnny Paul tell you that?”
What we need is to get our advice on life from God’s eternal Word Not from a world that is filled with constant changing opinions?
EXAMPLE: buying 104 Belt for the church’s John Deer mower...
104 = inches
there must have been 70 or more belts on the shelve.
Part Number changed everything
When we KNOW God’s Word and it has been locked into our Shield of Faith...No one will be able to convince you that 2+2= anything else other than “4”!!
4. Concern yourself with God’s agenda.
Jesus promised this in The Living Bible paraphrase:
“[God] will always give you all you need from day to day if you will make the Kingdom of God your primary concern” (Luke 12:31).
You can have only one “primary concern.”
God wants to be number one—and for your other interests and goals to be secondary.
He promises that if you put him and his agenda first, he’ll take care of everything else in your life.
All over the world, people are looking for meaning, significance, and purpose.
If you build your life on shifting sand—on things like power, pleasure, and wealth—you’ll never find what you’re looking for.
Instead, build your life on the truth of God’s Word and concern yourself with God’s agenda.
You’ll find yourself with a clear worldview and a consistent, purposeful life that stands up to all of life’s storms.
YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A THEOLOGIAN TO DEFEND YOUR FAITH—TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT AS PETER SAYS...
YOU MUST HAVE FAITH AND PRESENT IT THROUGH A LIFE LED ONE STEP AT A TIME.

Talk It Over

What foundation is your life built on?
How can you strengthen your foundation?
Think about the teaching you’ve been listening to lately.
Is there anything you’ve been believing that actually might be false?
In what ways have you been listening to the world’s values instead of the truth of God’s Word?
How can you start changing that?
