“Walking in God’s protection through Wisdom”

Proverbs 2:5–8 NKJV
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; 8 He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.
Proverbs 2:5 NKJV
5 Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God.
1. Understanding the Fear of the Lord (v.5)
• Reverence and awe toward God.
• The beginning of true knowledge and wisdom.
Proverbs 2:6 NKJV
6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
2. God as the Source of Wisdom (v.6)
• Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding come directly from Him.
• We can’t manufacture it on our own.
Proverbs 2:7 NKJV
7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
3. God as the Protector of the Upright (v.7)
• He stores up wisdom for the righteous.
• He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.
Proverbs 2:8 NKJV
8 He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.
4. God as the Preserver of His People (v.8)
• Guards the paths of justice.
• Watches over the way of His faithful ones.
Application:
• Am I seeking wisdom from God or relying on myself?
How has a right view of God or a wrong view of God shaped your decisions?
• How am I walking in integrity so I can experience His protection?
• In what areas of life do you most need God’s wisdom right now?

Summary

When we seek God’s wisdom with a reverent heart, He grants understanding, guards our steps, and faithfully protects those who walk in integrity.
