Big Idea:

An unclouded heart is necessary to receive revelation from God. If our heart is clouded, our leadership suffers our decisions get foggy, our discernment dull, and our spiritual edge blunt.

1. The Condition of the Heart Determines the Clarity of the Vision

Matthew 6:22 NLT

22 “Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.

Light = Revelation

Clouded heart = clouded leadership

A leaders greatest asset is a heart that can hear and see clearly from God.

2. Four Clouds That Block the Light ( Matthew 6)

A. Approval Addiction

(Matthew 6:1-18) Give, pray, and fast in secret to avoid living for applause.

B. Unforgiveness

(Matthew 6:12, 14-15)

Forgive quickly to avoid spiritual blindness.

C. Greed & Material Focus (Matthew 6:19-24)

If our eyes are fixed on stuff, our hearts get dark.

D. Worry

(Matthew 6:25-34)

Worry fogs our vision; focus on the Kingdom instead.

3. How to Keep the Heart Clear

- Check your motives (Matthew 6:1-4)

- Keep short accounts (Matthew 6:12, 14-15)

- Hold stuff loosely (Matthew 6:19-21)

- Trade worry for worship (Matthew 6:33-34)

4. Leadership Application

- Private clarity determines public fruit.

- Clean windows of the heart let light flow to others.
