Community Group questions
What are the similarities and differences between Luke’s account of Paul in Acts and Paul’s story here?
How are people lulled into a false gospel of self-righteousness themselves?
How are people lured into a false gospel by others?
Penal Substitutionary Atonement is the teaching that Christ was our substitute to atone God’s wrath for our sins and our being sinners (not just the acts we do but the basic self-centered orientation of our hearts). Why is that central to Paul’s explanation of the Gospel both in Gal. 1:3-5 and Gal 2: 19-21?
How does this teaching destroy our self-righteousness (Gal 2:19)?
When we stop seeking our own self-righteousness how does that open us up to resting and rejoicing in God’s grace?
What can you rejoice in this week? How can you be satisfied in God’s grace?
