John 14:3....A heavenly escort..

Psalm 16:8 “I have set the Lord always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

Sermon...

in this part of John’s gospel, Jesus has foretold of his betrayal and his forth coming death...13th chapter of John...
so the disciples was worried because that is something that they didn’t want to hear...
as you saw your loved one getting closer...that’s not something you wanted to see or think about....TALK, PREACH...
and Jesus could see how troubled they were with this news and he gives them a word of encouragement...John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
Instead of giving into a troubled heart, Jesus told them to firmly put their trust in God and in Jesus Himself. This was a radical call to trust in Jesus just as one would trust in God the Father, and a radical promise that doing so would bring comfort and peace to a troubled heart.
so what i tell you today as you sit here with troubled and grieving hearts, is to put your trust in Jesus and watch Him help you get thru this...TALK, PREACH.....
and then we roll over into John 14:2 “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
i like that last clause...(repeat)
Jesus prepares a place for His people because He loves them and is confident of their arrival.
Exalting Jesus in John Jesus Gives His Disciples Confidence: Here’s Why You Can Trust Me! (John 14:2–3)

Jesus tells his disciples they can have confidence because he is leaving to prepare a place for them

Exalting Jesus in John Jesus Gives His Disciples Confidence: Here’s Why You Can Trust Me! (John 14:2–3)

Jesus is preparing for them a new, different, and better home. Heaven is a real place.

how many of you realize that Claudio had a mansion prepared for him....TALK, PREACH......
and then we land on the text for today...John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
in this text, we see that Claudio had a heavenly escort the other day when he closed his eyes on this side and opened them on other side......
THE PROMISE.… i will come again....
he doesn’t have to send anyone, He will come....
how many of you know that Christ grabbed Claudio by the hand the other day...TALK, PREACH.......
THE RECEPTION....receive you unto myself...
Jesus will descend from heaven and gather believers unto Himself to be with Him for ever
John A. Heaven—The Father’s House (14:1–4)

this passage talks about is the personal touch of the Savior.

John A. Heaven—The Father’s House (14:1–4)

the personal return of Jesus to take his own to heaven

TALK, PREACH.......
THE TOGETHERNESS....where I am, there ye may be also.
The entire focus of heaven is being united with Jesus. Heaven is heaven not because of streets of gold, or pearly gates, or even the presence of angels. Heaven is heaven because Jesus is there.
We take comfort in knowing that even as He prepares a place for us, Jesus also prepares us for that place.
so family let not your hearts be troubled...
the other day, Jesus himself came and got your loved and gave him a personal escort to the city called heaven...
heaven...a land of no more...a prepared place for prepared people...(are you prepared)....TALK, PREACH, CLOSE....
