Main Idea: God is Sovereign

the feel and essence of worship.

Application:

if God is sovereign I can worship. The character of God makes his sovereignty encouraging.

no King movement

everyone worships

Our response is faithfulness not might and struggle against His established order or our circumstances

Praise God for who He is. for what he has done, is doing, will do.

Subpoint 1: Worship God for who He is. 1-2

a. God is holy

this is who we would want. A holy Monarch.

b. God is the only God

c. God is the foundation

Subpoint 2: God is Omniscient/Judge v3

a. He sees the heart of man. Omniscient

Pride and arrogance come from the heart. This is the natural response of a man who does not view God rightly, as described above.

b. He will judge.

Because this is our God, do not be proud/arrogant.

Subpoint 3: God is Sovereign 4-8

Verses 4-8 gives examples of these truths.

These examples foreshadow David.

Pillars indicate physical and moral order.

Verses 9-10: The Holy Sovereign God will judge an establishes His kingdom

Our response is faithfulness not might and struggle against His established order or our circumstances.

The end result is just judgment through the anointed King established by God.
