The Spiritual War

Paul taught with gentleness and meekness.
False apostles were rising up.
The weapons of this world are learning, personal influence, impressive credentials.
1 Corinthians 1:26 NASB95
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;
1 Corinthians 2:1 NASB95
And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
Philippians 3:4-8
The weapons Paul used were the proclaimed Word of God and prayer, Eph:17-18. These are weapons of divine power, in dependence on God.
1 Cor 2:4-5
These weapons are able to demolish the arguments and every pretension of the gospel opponents.
Neither the god of this age nor his henchmen could oppose the knowledge (or power) of God!
2 Corinthians 4:4 NASB95
in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2 Corinthians 11:15 NASB95
Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
The thoughts of the wise are futile.
