Teaching: This sermon teaches that each believer has a role in sharing their light and that faith in Jesus empowers us to navigate life's challenges confidently. It shows how belief brings clarity, hope, and peace amidst chaos.
How this passage could point to Christ: This passage foreshadows Christ's ultimate authority as the light of the world and showcases His power to calm the storms of life, a theme that culminates in His ultimate sacrifice and resurrection, guaranteeing eternal light for all who believe.
Big Idea: Jesus calls us to be lights in this world, using our faith to illuminate dark times and share His peace and power with others.

1. Shine Brightly

Luke 8:16–18 NASB95
“Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. “For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. “So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”
Jesus teaches that our faith and truth should not be hidden. Like a lamp, our beliefs are meant to illuminate both our lives and the lives of those around us. This call for openness and transparency in sharing our faith is meant to encourage you to live out the truth, knowing that what is hidden will be revealed and brought into the light by Jesus.
This truth is central in understanding our role as light-bearers in a world that often feels dark and uncertain. However in Him when we carry His Light The hope of His kingdom His spirit who dewlls in us that even though the world is dark and uncertain we have the hope and we are more that ready to give a defence of that hope in which we have. For Peter Wrote
1 Peter 3:12–17 NASB95
For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, And His ears attend to their prayer, But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.
So what is the Hope?
Give the Gospel
Why do people slander your good Behaivor or changed behavior since comming to christ

2. Light Reveals Secrets

Luke 8:17 NASB95
“For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
There is a truth that all which is secret will ultimately be revealed. This can be comforting or convicting depending on one's actions.
So I Encourage you to a lifestyle of integrity and transparency in faith, resting assured that God sees everything. This call to honesty aligns with Jesus' mission as the true light who exposes darkness.
So live authentically in Christ, so that when hidden things are revealed, they reflect His glory. Not in a leagalistic way but in a way that say I Love you jesus for you have done what i couldnt do I want to live right by you becasue I want to make you happy.
If you love me you will do what I say
ExaMPLE OF LOVING MY WIFE BY MY ACTIONS
.

3. Light Through Listening

Luke 8:18 NASB95
“So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”
Jesus calls us to take heed of how we listen and respond to His teachings. The distribution of light is not random, but intentional. As believers listen, absorb, and act upon God’s word, more understanding and spiritual light is given
SO I WANT TO Encourage YOU TODAY To actively engage with Scripture and apply it, ALLOW IT TO CHANGE YOUR WAY OF THINKING AND BEHAIVING THERBY activating YOUR role in God’s KINGDOM FOCUSED mission.
Consider a gardener tending to a young tree. The more care he gives—pruning, watering, and nourishing—the stronger and more fruitful it becomes. Conversely, if neglected, the tree's growth stunts, and even what little strength it had diminishes. In our spiritual lives, paying attention to God’s teachings enables us to grow deeper roots in faith, ensuring that we flourish and share that bounty with others in His greater mission.

4. Living Obediently

Luke 8:19–21 NASB95
And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd. And it was reported to Him, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
Its so important to see how Jesus redefines family in terms of spiritual families,
Hw is saying those who walk with him are his familiy and by that definition those who do not are not his family
and so it is true of our families we grow closer to our spiritual families as we walk with christ than our blood families who do not and
jesus knew it would be this way
Matthew 10:34–36 NASB95
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. “For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household.
As GODS "lights," YOU HAVE BEEN invited into a transformative relationship with Jesus, where obedience to His teachings forms the foundation for true fellowship and and eternal family WITH HIM.
This connection strengthens the OUR resolve to let their light shine even brighter, and to remain grounded in the understanding that our spiritual family extends beyond biological ties to those who also follow Christ.
