We are going to look briefly at Acts 2:38-40
Acts 2:38–41 NIV
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
Every Sunday , without fail, I feel unworthy of this calling. God has done so much in my own life and I have watched over the past few years how much God is done in this congregation. Peter felt unworthy of his call as well. Yet in the books of Acts , Peter steps into the call that God had put on his life. He delivers a sermon in Chapter 2 and 3,000 people were baptized that day. Peter was a fisherman, he wasn’t a public speaker. He wasn’t a rabbi or a pastor. He knew the power of Jesus though, He knew who Jesus was and He knew the gift of forgiveness.
Morning and Evening Morning, August 14

Be not contented with this unspeakable blessing for thyself alone, but publish abroad the story of the cross. Holy gladness and holy boldness will make you a good preacher, and all the world will be a pulpit for you to preach in. Cheerful holiness is the most forcible of sermons, but the Lord must give it you.

We must not keep these blessings to ourselves but we must go out into the world just as Jesus came to the world preaching the Gospel. We are to continue in the same manner.
Luke 12:11–12 NIV
“When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Many times we believe we are not ready. We do not know enough of the Bible, or we do not have it all together. We must trust in the teaching and leading of the holy spirit. He will lead us and He will give us the words when we have no words.
Let us pray.
