Introduction:
Mother Teresa once said, "We need to find God, and He can’t be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature — trees, flowers, grass — grows in silence; see the stars, the moon, and the sun, see how they move in silence. We need silence to be able to touch souls.
Psalm 91:1 “1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Dwelling Under God’s Divine Umbrella
Dwelling Under God’s Divine Umbrella
The Hebrew word for “live” is “yashab” (??????), meaning to sit, remain, or dwell.
This isn’t a passing visit—it’s a permanent position. To dwell in God’s shelter is to abide in continual fellowship with Him.
John 15:4 “4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”
This doesn’t mean you want have storms in your life. It just means you will have protection
Picture a child during a thunderstorm who runs into their father’s arms. The storm rages on, but the child rests, knowing they are safe in the embrace of someone stronger.
God protect the Israelites in Exodus during the plagues because they we are under his protection
David’s prayer in
4 One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. 5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
Shadow of the Almighty
Shadow of the Almighty
This signifies us living under his divine protection
The Septuagint (Greek translation of the Old Testament) uses the word “skia” (s???)—meaning shade, protection, defense. The image is of one sitting in the shade of a mighty rock while the heat of the world rages on.
To dwell in God’s shadow is to live in such closeness that His presence eclipses your fear.
Colossians 3:3 “3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”
Moses experienced the secret place on Mount Sinai, where he encountered God and was hidden in the cleft of the rock, under God’s protection (Exodus 33:21–22 “21 Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.” ).
GOD IS ALMIGHTY
God Created Everything by His Word:
GOD IS ALMIGHTY IN DELIVERANCE
God Rescues His People from the Enemy
Isaiah 43:13 “13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?””
GOD IS ALMIGHTY IN FULFILLING HIS PROMISES
Numbers 23:19 “19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

c) Rest from the Struggles of Life
In God's presence, there is rest. The burdens of life do not overwhelm us when we find our rest in Him. He promises to give us rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28 “28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” ).
d) Divine Assurance of His Presence
d) Divine Assurance of His Presence
Knowing that God is always with us brings a deep sense of comfort and security, allowing us to rest without fear. His constant presence assures us of His protection and care.
Biblical Example: Jesus calmed the storm when His disciples feared for their lives. With His presence came peace (Mark 4:39–40 “39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”” ).
