Eph 4:17-24

The world looks different when we see it through a biblical worldview

Paul in this passage draws a dramatically clear distinction between those who do and don’t know christ
17-19 vs. 20-24
there is an ignorance to their behavior. They behave with such lacking concern because they do not know better
Yet the Christian, the one who is to know Christ, should have “put off” the old self
Why do we see things through the way Christ has taught us?
Because it is a holier way
Who would you rather trust more, the person who designs a robot, or the robot itself?
Robot Movie “I know this place like the back of my hand. Hey that’s new”
When we understand what scripture has taught us to, it must infiltrate every fiber of our being

The evidence of a transformed life lies in the way we Love

How do we know this?
Eph 4:25-32
Instruction after instruction on how a Christian living a life as they are called to will
See this as a checklist
Do you do this? Does your life reflect these truths?
Are you prone to forgiveness or lost in bitterness?
Do you work hard even when cheating would be easier?
Do you speak positively to your brothers and sisters?
Do you have a heart to reconcile with one another?
It isn’t that this a burdensome requirement, but results that come from a mind that is pursuant to the heart of the Lord

The renewing of our mind is a lifelong journey instead of a singular event

Romans 12:2
So often we think that the moment we come to Christ, we obtain the great knowledge of what it means to live like him
In reality, it is a constant recognition of where our actions are both in and out of alignment with scripture.
This process happens repeatedly throughout our lives
How frequently does somebody point something out to us and we struggle significantly in acknowledging that we do so?
How frequently do we stand in a similar position to the religious leaders in Jesus’s time by being convinced we are without sin? That we are the exception and everyone else is the one who’s doing wrong?

1. Why should we have a biblical worldview?

2. If your friends/family looked at your life, what do you think they’d say you valued? Would the principles of scripture come up?

3. How are you engaging in renewing your mind? What does that look like daily for you?
