To look at who we are becoming we first need to look back at who we were in the Garden. Any other starting point and we will draw wrong conclusions. It would be like picking a book up in the third chapter. We might get confused as to who is what and miss key details.
Before we can talk about sin or fallenness we need to see how did God create us to be.
we were innocent

We are Made in the Image of God

Gen 1:26-27

No other creature is made in Gods Image
there is something special about us.
male and Female are in the image of God
we cannot earn it but it is a status God gives us.
This humbles the exalted and lifts up the down trodden
You are only the image of God not God, Or You are not subhuman or worth less than anyone. You are made in his Image!
… one soul made in the image of God is more precious to Him than all the starry universe. Astronomy deals with space and matter and motion; theology deals with life and personality and the mystery of being.4

Capability

Logic and rationality
Creation and Destruction
Self-Control
2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV) 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
we have the power of full excess or self-control, other creatures do not they have a nature they always follow

Relationship

To see an image in the mirror you have to stand the right way
To be Gods image is to stand in relationship with him
that doesn't mean the relationship is good
Colossians 1:15 (NIV)15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
John 14:20 “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

Responsibility

2 Corinthians 5:20We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
our actions should reflect God’s character and image
everyone is made in the image of God
Not only are we made in God’s Image but also everyone else is
We all have this status but how well are we reflecting it? look in the mirrors
