This Week’s Theme: Can I Lose My Salvation
Word for the Week is Eternal Security: It is the assurance that those who are genuinely saved by faith in Jesus Christ are kept secure by God’s power and grace, and will never lose their salvation.

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 I and My Father are one.”

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

NO WAY TO ENTER INTO GOD’S SHEEPFOLD WITH GOING THRU THE DOOR
HE STATED THAT IF ANYONE JOHN 10:1
1 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
THEREFORE, OUR ENTRANCE
INTO HIS SHEEPFOLD
INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD
INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD
is not based on
YOUR STATUS BUT HIS STATUS
Your merit but His mercy.
Your righteousness but His righteousness.
Your works but His work.
WHICH IS WHY DAVID SAID
HE MAKES ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES
HE LEADS ME BESIDE THE STILL WATERS
HE RESTORES MY SOUL
JESUS SAID IN John 14:6

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

DID YOU HEAR HIS STATUS

CHRIST IS NOT A HIRELING ON WHO IS ONLY HIRED TO LOOK AFTER THE SHEEP
ONE WHO DOES NOT OWN THE SHEEP
WHEN THE WOLF COMES
HE FIGHT AND DOES NOT FLEE
HE IS NOT A THIEF OR ROBBER
HE SAYS IT AGAIN IN VERSE 14
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
(WORK THE VERSE)
Personal (knows His sheep by name)
Protective (guards and secures His flock)
Providing (leads to life and abundance)
Uniting (brings one flock together)
Obedient to the Father (acting in divine purpose)
The Good Shepherd is both tender and strong—tender in His care, strong in His protection, and perfect in His sacrifice.
Not by status but by the Savior.
Not by rank but by His righteousness.
Not by position but by His perfection.
Not by merit but by the Messiah.
Not by what we do but what He has done.
NOT JUST BECAUSE OF HIS STATUS BUT

14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
LOOK AT WHAT JESUS SAID IN Mark 10:45
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
HIS ACT WAS INTENTIONAL
4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
THIS IS WHY PAUL SAID IN 1 Corinthians 15:3
3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
Romans 5:8 “8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
HIS ACT IS ALSO A DISPLAY OF HIS POWER
17 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
CHRIST’S SACRIFICE ON the Cross
HIS DEATH was . . .

The highest of all accomplishments
The noblest of all events
The finest of all hours
The surest of all moments
The truest of all commitments
Christ also suffered once for sins,
the righteous for the unrighteous,
that He might bring us to God.”

Sheep ARE DEPENDENT
Sheep Need to Be Led, Not Driven
COWS ARE DRIVEN BUT SHEEP ARE LED
SHEEP FOLLOW THE SHEPHERD WHO GOES AHEAD OF THEM
Believers follow Christ’s example, not because of coercion but because of His leadership (John 10:4).
WHICH IS WHY JESUS SAID IN John 10:27
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
AS SHEEP WE FOLLOW HIM BECAUSE
WE NEED TO BE
LEAD
FEED
AND PROTECTED BY THE GOOD SHEPHERD
IF LEFT ALONE
SHEEP WILL EASILY WANDER OFF AND GET LOST.
WHICH IS WHY
YOU AND I NEED CHRIST FOR LIFE
WHICH IS WHY HE SAYS IN VERSE 10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
AND
GUIDANCE
WHICH IS WHY THE PROPHET ISAIAH WROTE IN IS 53:6
“All we like sheep have gone astray”
We too WILL DRIFT OR STRAY if we are not anchored to God’s Word
LOOK AT HEB 2:1
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

Sheep Are Defenseless

SHEEP SAFETY IS FOUND BY BEING WITH THE GOOD SHEPHERD
LOOK AT John 10:28
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
AS Sheep, WE Are Defenseless

HE PROMISED TO PROTECT
HE SECURES OUR SALVATION
CHRISTIANS, SAINTS, BELIEVERS
WE CANNOT OVERCOME SIN AND SATAN
ON OUR OWN
WE ARE SECURE BECAUSE OF CHRIST, THE GOOD SHEPHERD
CHRIST SHEEP HEAR HIS VOICE AND FOLLOW HIM
CHRIST GIVES THEM ETERNAL LIFE
WITH THE PROMISE: THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH AND NO ONE CAN REMOVE THEM OUT OF HIS HAND
LOOK AT John 10:29
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
THE FATHER HAS GIVEN THEM TO CHRIST

What He COMMITTED, He COMPLETED.
What He PROMISED, He PERFORMED.
IF HE DID WHAT HE SAID
SINCE HIS WORDS ARE TRUE
BECAUSE OF HIS STATUS
BY FAITH, I AM NOW A PART OF HIS SHEEPFOLD
BECAUSE OF HIS SACRIFICE
I LIVE because He laid down HIS LIFE.
I PRAISE BECAUSE HE PROMISED
I SHOUT because He sacrificed.
I AM THANKFUL because He TOOK my place.
I AM EXCITED because He EXCHANGED His life for mine.
BECAUSE OF HIS SURETY
Now I am REDEEMED and RESTING.
Now I am JUSTIFIED and JOYFUL
Now I am FORGIVEN and FREE.
Now I am RESCUED and RECONCILED.
Now I am DELIVERED and DEFENDED
FOR CHRIST IS

THE ANCHOR THAT SECURES US
THE REFUGE THAT CONSOLES US
THE CONFIDENCE THAT ASSURES US
HE IS
THE ABUNDANCE THAT SUPPLIES US
THE WEALTH THAT ENRICHES US
THE PROVISION THAT SATISFIES US

THE PROVIDER THAT SUSTAINS US
