Don’t allow your trust issues with people to keep you from trusting God. Because bringing your trust issues with people into your faith journey might block the blessings that come, only come, through trust in God.
And as we begin this sermon series on Wisdom, the begining of wisdom is the fear of the LORD. Trusting Him is where we first apply and learn wisdom.
We shouldn’t take it lightly this idea of trust.
I get it. So many people have betrayed our trust. (Run)
He’s Trust Worthy
He’s Trust Worthy
Trust in the LORD- The “LORD” all capital letters, Yahweh, is God’s revealed name which always carries with it the connotation the he is the personal covenant making and covenant keeping God of Israel. So, when Solomon says Trust in the LORD, it is a command yes, but it is also an invitation to sacred memory. Because after all, there is no record more trust worthy that the LORD.
He Made a promise to Abraham that he would give him a son...He kept his promise.
He told Sarah...He kept his promise.
Joseph...He kept his promise.
He told Moses...
He told Joshua...
He revealed to Rahab...
David he would be King...
(Preach)
ALL your heart—The command to trust God “with all your heart” means that the total personality is to be committed to God’s care. And the tension then, or the callenge to the believer while we are trusting God, is to trust God will all that we have and all that we are. All your heart. Here is where that trust issue comes into play. With people, when we share our heart, and it gets broken, we then have resentment to trust other people with our heart again. But, one thing is for sure, that even when we don’t understand God’s will, plan, power, or ways, he would never betray our heart when we trust him with it. And that is not just emotional. That is spiritual.
