Week 8:

1. The Proclamation from God (Pharaoh will not let you go)

Exodus 3:19 KJV 1900
19 And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
God proclaimed to Moses of what would happen...
“I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go...”
God knew about the problems before God did the sending...
He told him about the ites that he would have to fight...
Now God is telling him that Pharaoh WILL NOT let the people go...
In verse 12 we looked at the qualification for the call...
God said “Certainly I will be with thee”
and “it shall be a token unto thee”
The call of God is sure...
But here we are talking about the proclamation from God that Pharaoh will not let you go...
God told us not everything would be peachy during our lives too:
John 15:18–20 KJV 1900
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Luke 21:17 KJV 1900
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.
2 Timothy 3:12 KJV 1900
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
1 Peter 4:12–13 KJV 1900
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Psalm 34:19 KJV 1900
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
But Remember:
Romans 8:17–18 KJV 1900
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
God told Moses - “I want you to go to Egypt and tell the king of Egypt to let Israel go. Then the Pharaoh will say ‘no’.”
Can you imagine the confusion for Moses...
But in our own lives if we would just let God get to the next verse before bowing out...

2. The Provision from God (but God)

Exodus 3:20 KJV 1900
20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
God sends Moses to tell Pharaoh to let His people go...
With the knowledge that Pharaoh will say “no”...
Then says “But here’s the solution”… ME
God’s plan may contain hurdles, but it is not a plan of failure...
God says “You’re a sinner and you’re going to die and go to hell.”… But I have the solution
God says “Gideon, you only have 300 men vs 35,000 Midianite soldiers.”… But I have the solution
God says “Daniel, you’re going into a den of lions.”… But I have the solution
God says “Disciples, feed these 5,000 with this little boy’s lunch.”… Because I have the solution
In God’s will, will there be:
Setbacks? Likely...
Opposition? Guaranteed...
But God is the solution...
God swooped in to save the day many times before...
While Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, he responded with:
Genesis 50:20 KJV 1900
20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Samson used the jawbone of an ass to slay a thousand men, but thought he might die from thirst and then...
Judges 15:19 KJV 1900
19 But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En-hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
The Psalmist said
Psalm 73:26 KJV 1900
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
How about :
Romans 5:8 KJV 1900
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Sometimes we bow out of the cause of Christ when we hear how difficult things might be, but if we would just let God get to the next verse in our lives where He explains how He is going to accomplish His will through us...

3. The Promise from God

Exodus 3:21 KJV 1900
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:
God is already telling Moses that the people WILL GO...
This is a guarantee from God...
Not “IF” you go...
But “When” you go...
Genesis 18:10 KJV 1900
10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
Joshua 6:2 KJV 1900
2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
Isaiah 7:14 KJV 1900
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, And shall call his name Immanuel.
John 14:3 KJV 1900
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
God’s will is not a will of probably, but a will of proclamation…
If you follow and obey me, here is what will take place…
John 16:33 KJV 1900
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
The cherry on top...
Exodus 3:22 KJV 1900
22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.
Hymn 405 - “It’s Just Like His Great Love”
It’s just like Jesus to roll the clouds away,
It’s just like Jesus to keep me day by day,
It’s just like Jesus all along the way,
It’s just like His great love...
