There are four James's mentioned in the New Testament. Which gives us four possibilities and titles which these men could have chosen. If it was James the half brother of Jesus he opted for the title bond-slave. lf it was one of the Apostles, they did not choose to put their office in the salutation. This James chose to identify with a slave. All for what? Because he wanted to be owned by the Master, The Lord Jesus Christ.
