Transitional Prayer (P. Krista)

Introduction

Transition: Have you enjoyed our service so far? We have been in a Mini-Series called
Series | All-In
In our all in series we have been answering some big questions like…
What happens when we are ALL-IN to gather & grow, give and go together?
This series has captured the essence of our vision in relation to our biblical design as a church.
We heard amazing testimonies from our friends Dontrail, Ashlee and Jen. and heard first hand of what God can do in our life when we position ourselves to be all in… in these areas.
Today is our REFULE service
Sermon Title | Refuel
As Pastor Amanda already referenced… The goal of our Refuse services is to set aside our normal agenda to focuse on Jesus together through prayer and worship.
Why prayer and worship? What’s so unique about these thing
Church… when we are all in on Prayer… IN YOUR NOTES

We see God MOVE. (1 Sam. 1:9-20, James 5:16)

Friends, God loves to hear the prayers of his people. He loves to engage with us through simple conversation.
The same way we love others by open our heart and sharing our life with them… the father loves to do the same with us.
Now.. I don’t want to give you the false impression that he moves in your timing, or in the exact way you want him to move… but I am saying God hears us… He care for us … and He WILL-MOVE according to his will on our behalf.
We know God moves because we see this throughout scripture over and over as Gods people seek him in prayer.
I think of people in the bible like
Hannah who prayed for a child… in fact scripture describes in 1 Sam… that she wanted a child so bad that she wept bitterly before the lord. It wasn’t a pretty prayer… it was heart wrenching… it was full of pain and desperation.
James is instructing us on the importance of prayer in Chapter 5 of his letter… and he say’s this, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”
Just before this… James say’s confess your sins one to another… that you may be healed.
What I James saying?
He is saying… you can’t be living in unrighteousness or disobedience and expect God to move.
This is not about works its about surrender. Its not about perfection its about a genuine repentance.
I know what’s weight on your heart today… but when we pray God hears and he moves
My friend Laura Fa-ve-la… has a really inspiring story when it comes to being all in on Prayer.
Check out her story…

💡 QUESTION 1 – Introduction w/ challenge
Hey guys, thanks for being open to share part of your story with us today.
Tell us how long you’ve been part of The Grace Place, and what first brought you here?”
If you were to give me 2-3 words to describe what life was like before you found belonging and community at the Grace Place, what would they be?
Can you tell us about a time when your heart was desperate to see God moved and you turned to prayer
By the way, we are so glad you found us…
I too know what it feels like to be… wore out… burned out and in need of refreshing…
I have to be honest.. when I look at you guys today.. I see two very different people from what you just described.
💡 QUESTION 2 – The Turning Point
How did God begin to answer your prayer?
This is where you can talk about little conversations or small open doors he would give you to minister to yoru sister or invite her to events at church etc?
Wow… well I can’t tell you how proud I am of you and your family…
This is the exact reason why we encourage people to take next steps…
Next Steps are usually the turning point for a lot of people.
I saw you guys both dive in… and I have to say… it’s been inspiring to watch.
Let me as you this…
🔄 QUESTION 3 – Breakthrough/Growth
How has this impacted your life?
What differences has this made in the your prayer life?
What difference has this made in your realtionship with your sister?
ok… I have one more question for you guys…
💬 QUESTION 4 – Encouragement to Others
What would you say to someone here today who is needed God to move or has been praying waiting for God to move?
Maybe share how you are still living this out todays in other areas. Or feel free to encourage them with a scripture like 1 Thess. 5:17 that says, “Pray without ceasing”
I want to invite our staff and Deacons and Holly … one of our missionary partners… to make their way to the front as we open up the service for a special time of prayer.

Time of Prayer

While the worship team begins to play..
If you have been desperate for God to move in an certain area of your life… our prayer team is up here and ready to pray for anyone with a need today… Would you come
Whether you need to confess sin, or your carrying an unbearable burden… God is here to strengthen you and move on your behalf - even if its something you deep small… it matters to him.
Don’t wait today…come now
We want to join our faith with you and pray for you. Believing that God will move on your behalf…
Those of you who are in your seats today… I’d like to invite the rest of you to stand and join us in prayer right from where you are, lifting up those who have come forward.

***INVITE PEOPLE TO GO BACK TO THEIR SEASTS
Friends… We see God move when we are all in on Prayer…
Lastly for today…. here is what happens when we are all in on Worship… IN YOUR NOTES

We see God TRANSFORM. Rom. 12:1-2 msg

Yea… God begins to change us from the inside out… the stuff that we are unable to change about ourselves.
When we talk about WORSHIP we are not talking about singing alone…. this is a part of it. But as we consider what worship is in a biblical sense…
Here is how I would put it…
Worship is the way we life our life for God.” (REPEAT)
Friends, it’s hard to experiance transformation when we have not given God much room to work… in how we live for him.
At the same time… when you open the smallest crack… even the size of a tiny mustard seed… God see’s an opening… and steps right in!
I’m going to paraphrase what Paul says in Rom 12:1-2…as he encourages us to be people of Worship… he says…
Give your everyday life to God as an act of worship… make yourselves available… and put all your attention on Him. When you do, He will transform you from the inside out—bringing out His best in you.”
Anyone want to see God transform them… from the inside out?
There have been so many people in our church who have experienced God do a transformation in their life.
I want to invite my friend… Lissett to join me on the stage.
She has an amazing story of transformation…. You are in for a big treat today…
*******Get Mic For Her
While she is making her way up here….
Lissette, thank you for sharing your story with us today.

Live Interview w/ Lissett

It takes a lot of boldness to share your story in this way…. I commend you.
💡 QUESTION 1 – Introduction w/ challenge
Tell us how long you’ve been part of The Grace Place, and what first brought you here?”
If you were to give me 2-3 words to describe what life was like before you found belonging and community at the Grace Place, what would they be?
***Friends we are looking at the answered prayers of a loving sister…
Repeate her order:
So your sister had been praying for you
At the same time you began seeking…
What was the turning point for you… When did things start to change?
This is where you can talk about how worshiping God with your life/lifestyle began to change you.
Be descriptive in the things you changed like - worshiping God with your time by going to church, groups, serving etc… and worshiping God through song at church or any other way
Wow… well I can’t tell you how proud I am of you and your
So God began to transform your life…
Let me as you this…
🔄 QUESTION 3 – Breakthrough/Growth
How has all this impacted your life?
What differences has this made in the quality of your life, your family?
ok… I have one more question for you guys…
💬 QUESTION 4 – Encouragement to Others
Question: What would you say to someone here today who is contemplating being all in to worship Jesus with their life?
Maybe share how you are still living this out and actually being Baptized today :)

BAPTISM INVITATION:

*****2nd SERVICE ONLY
TODAY is BAPTISM Sunday… we’ll be baptizing several people…
If you are one of those being baptized… go ahead and change and make your way to the fellowship Hall for some final instructions from Pastor Bruce.
If you have recently given your heart to Jesus and you have never been water baptized… this is your next step as a believer…
In fact Jesus commands us to repent and Be baptized… it’s our way of declaring to the world that we have been made clean before God.
So even if you are not registered… we have clothes and towels for you to be baptized in… just connect with Pastor Bruce in the fellowship hall.
TO Renew Our commitment and Remember what he has done on our behalf for Salvation… I would like us to take communion together. If you did not get the elements when you came in today please raise your hand and the ushers will serve you

Communion

Closing Illustration: Last week was my final session of physical therapy from my shoulder surgery a little over 4 months ago. Im about 75% healed up and the rest was up to me. I realized somewhere along the way… I accepted my limited range of motion, telling myself, “This is good enough.”
Then it hit me—I had never made a firm commitment in my MIND to fully recover. If I don’t change my mindset, and get a plan for improvement… this is as far as I’ll ever go. From the outside, most people would say, “You look fine, everything seems back to normal.” But I know what’s still weak inside me—things you can’t see.
In the same way, many of us are like that spiritually. We look good on the outside. We’ve made some changes, but we’ve stopped short of our complete healing. We’ve settled for “good enough” instead of pressing into all that God has for us.
Before we take communion I want you to consider all that Jesus did to accomplish your healing and freedom and deliverance from Sin.
Communion is an oportunity to remember and respond to the work of Christ in us… it resets our HOPE.
Before we take communion today… respond to whatever he is asking of you to surrender…
Consider the Bread - as we think about his body that was broken for our FULL healing - Emotionally, Physically and spiritually
Consider the Juice - as we as we think about the blood that was spilled for our forgiveness.
By the way…
TODAY is BAPTISM Sunday… in the 2nd service we will be baptizing 10 people- if you have not been baptized… your welcome to join us and be baptized Don’t settle for a partial healing or partial deliverance… I want to encourage you to go ALL IN with God. Friends, true transformation doesn’t come from halfway or half hearted commitments—it comes when we surrender completely, offering our lives as a living sacrifice of worship.
Who want’s to be ALL IN in WORSHIP? Who wants to see God transformed their life in ways they never imagined… If thats you… I want to invite you to stand up all over the room… Lets worship Jesus with a new resolve today.

As we finish out our service today I can’t think of a better way to close our service than WATER BAPTISM.
Water Baptism is our public confession of Jesus
It represents our old life is dead and Gone
We have surrendered to a new way of Living for Jesus.
Whatever he has of us.. to the best of our ability, our ANSWER is YES JESUS
I will do that
Yes Jesus, you can have that.

Tongues & Interpretation
1. To STRENGTHEN the Church (1 Cor14:5)
For prophecy is greater than SPEAKING in TONGUES, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church will be STRENGTHENED.
Believers, God has operated through this gift today to strengthen you today. Let your faith be strengthened and know that God is in control and using supernatural measures to speak to us.
2. Is a SIGN for unbelievers. (1Cor. 14: 21a, 22)
1 Corinthians 14:21–22 (ESV)
In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers.
22 -  So you see that speaking in tongues is a SIGN, not for believers, but for UNBELIEVERS.
The Bible explains to us God has chosen to use this gift to be a sign for you. A sign for what? It is a sign of his realness for those of you who have been doubting or questioning the existence of God. He wants you to know he is REAL and he wants to bring you spiritual life and health. If you're in here today and you don't know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior... he wants you to know he has gone to great lengths to show you his love today. (Great opportunity for a salvation altar call if it fits).
