Luke 22:42
“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
INTRODUCTION:
Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction. — John F. Kennedy
If you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction. — Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Many of want a life that makes, one with direction. Many time lives that lack sustainable substances, void of empathy, and full of earthly ambitions that limited to earthly achievements.
Explain the story:
What ?
Will in this context reflect God’s desire for us. God’s will is not intended to restrict us but guild us and lead us into true fulfilment. Obeying is key to walking under an open heaven. It turns tears in to joy. Nothing pleases a parent than child that walks according to his father’s will.
Matthew 7:21–23 KJV 1900
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Luke 9:23 KJV 1900
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Deny yourself
Luke 9:23 KJV 1900
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luke 9:23
Luke 9:23 KJV 1900
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
The will can be implimented by two Desires:
Mark 12:30–31 KJV 1900
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Love the your God with all you heart, all soul, with all your mind and all your strength.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
WHY? ( HIS WORDS REVEAL HIS WILL)
We can’t afford to wilk in circle and confusion like the children Isrealites. A eleven day journey took them forty years because of disobeying the God.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 KJV 1900
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Psalm 40:8 KJV 1900
I delight to do thy will, O my God: Yea, thy law is within my heart.
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV 1900
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Isaiah 55:8–9 KJV 1900
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts.
HOW?
Philippians 2:13 KJV 1900
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Proverbs 16:3 KJV 1900
Commit thy works unto the Lord, And thy thoughts shall be established.
