Christian you are to live a life of Eagerness!

Eager Teachers v.10

Persistent - Wont Quit even when it is hard
Persistent people begin their success where others end in failures.
Edward Eggleston
2 Timothy 4:2 “2 Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and teaching.”
Consistent - Keep the main thing the Main thing - steady, faithful, dependable.
Persistence gets you through a storm.
Consistency keeps you on course when the seas are calm.

I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed: 2 Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you; not out of greed for money but eagerly; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4

Eager Readers v.11-12

THE BEREANS SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES

Eagerness
Luke 11:52 “52 “Woe to you experts in the law! You have taken away the key to knowledge. You didn’t go in yourselves, and you hindered those who were trying to go in.””

81 I long for your salvation;

I put my hope in your word.

Psalm 119:105 “105 Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

109 My life is constantly in danger,

yet I do not forget your instruction.

110 The wicked have set a trap for me,

but I have not wandered from your precepts.

111 I have your decrees as a heritage forever;

indeed, they are the joy of my heart.

112 I am resolved to obey your statutes

to the very end.,

Receive
James 1:21 “21 Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
Examine
Hebrews 4:12 “12 For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Carefully
John 5:39 “39 You pore over the Scriptures because you think you have eternal life in them, and yet they testify about me.”

27 Help me understand

the meaning of your precepts

so that I can meditate on your wonders.

Daily
Acts 2:42–47 “42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. 44 Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. 45 They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.”
The priesthood of believers- The examined them by themselves.
The Bereans were more noble than the Thessalonians because they were utterly submissive to the Scriptures. They would accept something new—if it could be supported in the Scriptures. They would believe something controversial—if it was based in Scripture. They were willing to follow Christ for the rest of their lives, provided they were, in the process, following the Scriptures.
Kevin DeYoung

Eager Believers

You need to understand the importance of
The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers.
Know when to hold ’em” → Stick with something worth pursuing.
“Know when to fold ’em” → Walk away when the odds or situation aren’t in your favor.
“Know when to walk away” → Sometimes leaving is wiser than staying.
“Know when to run” → Don’t just leave—escape quickly if it’s harmful.
To Send
To Stay
To Watch
The story of Noah waiting for the floodwaters to recede is one of eager anticipation. After the storm, he sent out a dove to check for dry land. Imagine his heart racing when that dove returned with an olive branch—signifying hope and new beginnings. Like Noah, we can cultivate a spirit of eager anticipation in our daily lives, waiting for God to bring renewal and promise after our own storms.
To Wait
In biblical times, the people of Israel waited for the Messiah with eager anticipation. This was not merely a passing thought; it was a deep hope that filled their hearts. Similarly, in our lives, we should cultivate that same eagerness for Christ's return, living each day with joy and readiness, knowing the best is yet to come.
