Opening Words of Comfort
Dear friends and family, we have gathered here today to lay Tiffany’s earthly body to rest.
Though our hearts grieve, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. For God’s Word assures us that death is not the end for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Today, as we commend Tiffany into the care of our loving Father, we also cling to the promises of God that bring peace, hope, and eternal assurance.
Scripture Reading – Psalm 23
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Words of Hope
“As we stand here, we are reminded that this is not the final chapter of Tiffany’s story.
Jesus Himself said in John 11:25–26:
‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.’
Death is real, but so is eternal life through Christ. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we have the assurance that those who believe in Him live forever in His presence. For Tiffany, this promise has now become sight. Where we see loss, heaven sees gain. Where we feel sorrow, Tiffany now knows joy.”
Scripture Reading – 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14, 18
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep… Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
Committal
“We now commit Tiffany’s body to the ground—earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust—in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We do this not in despair, but in faith, knowing that God will one day raise up all who belong to Him.”
Final Scripture & Blessing – John 14:1–3
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and give you peace, both now and forevermore. Amen.”
