Motions for Jeremiah 1:5
“I knew you” – Point up (God) then point to kids (you).
“before I formed you” – Pretend to mold something gently with your hands (like shaping clay).
“in your mother’s womb” – Make a circle with your arms in front of your stomach, like a baby inside.
“Before you were born” – Rock arms like holding a baby.
“I set you apart” – Step slightly to the side and spread arms out wide, showing “special.”
Intro the entrance of Theo the Dog
Puppet Show Script:
Michael.: Hi friends! Today we’re learning something very special: God understands how I feel and cares about me. Let’s see what Theo’s up to.
Theo: (pops up, looking sad) Oh no, oh no…
Michael: Hi Theo! What’s wrong?
Theo: I can’t find my favorite ball anywhere! I looked in my doghouse, under the tree, even by the barn — but it’s gone. Now I feel so sad.
Michael: I’m sorry, Theo. That would make me feel sad too.
Theo: And not just sad… I feel worried. What if I never find it? What if it’s gone forever?
Michael: Those are big feelings, Theo. But guess what? God understands how you feel — even when you’re sad or worried.
Theo: He does? Even about my ball?
Michael: Yes! God cares about everything that matters to you. The Bible says in Jeremiah that God knew us even before we were born. That means He knows our hearts and understands our feelings.
Theo: Wow… so God cares when I’m sad, and He cares when I’m happy too?
Michael: Exactly, Theo. God understands how you feel and cares about you. In fact, let’s watch a video about what Jesus says when we feel worried.
Theo: Okay! Ruff ruff — let’s watch!
(Puppet waves goodbye, then transition into the Saddleback Kids video.)
