Scripture: Psalm 46
Scripture: Psalm 46
Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Introduction:
Introduction:
when I was 18, on the outside I looked like someone who was confident, joyful, and someone unbothered by things around me. But the reality was on the inside I was an anxious mess. Anxiety wreaked havoc on my heart for years, until it manifested into attacks, fainting, and even seizures coming to.
It all started when I stumbled onto my grandfathers porn collection in his garage. A box, full of magazines he had collected over the years, tucked away in a corner under rubble waiting to be found.. And I found it. And that day a deep darkness grabbed hold of my heart. Shame. Fear. And a cycle that trapped me and slowly began to work on the foundation of what I thought I believed. The Gospel. The next year my little brother lost his leg in a horrible accident that I could have prevented. The next year right before my 16th birthday my mom was diagnosed with a horrible case of breast cancer which kept her in bed most days for almost a year. The next year my porn addiction had taken over my life, and I began to toy with the idea of what killing myself would be like. I would hold a gun to my head in my room and slowly pull the trigger back as far as I could searching for that “tipping point”. Even two years ago my son was diagnosed with 4 extreamly rare heart defects, that will mean he will spend his life in heart failure.
