Proverbs 4

Basic Overview: Relationship between Father and Sons (great wisdom for parents and families for today)

Returning to the Basics: Wisdom for Life

1. Pursue Wisdom Passionately

Proverbs 4:1-9
What he gives: Sound Teaching- Doctrine
Do not Abandon- depart from leave.
This tells me something about the relationship between Father and child, impart the wisdom through knowledge and the way you live, but do it not for obligation, out of obedience.
Child may leave it and depart… they may, and they will learn, we are to pray they return.
Proverbs 1:5 “5 A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,”
Pursuing wisdom is not a individual achievement- built on learning from someone
There is a lot of information we can give our children
Give them sound teaching- with your words and your life
does this mean you are perfect no… but our kids need to see us full of humility and grace
