We Are All Without Excuse

Rom.1:19-32…………..Notes on file  4/30/06

Cf…as young boy I tried every kind of excuse to get by or away with something…didn’t work.

Having grown older (hope wiser) I realize adults still use the excuse for just about everything…

Our scripture speaks to our society today…(speaks to us)

As the preacher of Eccl. Says; “There is nothing new under the sun..”..

Apostle Paul makes plain for us some facts…

Now, three times in our scripture it says “God gave them over”…(V. 24, 26, 28)…divine mention.

Some folks never learn a fact of scripture, that God will give up, leave one, to there on devices.

Cf…Judges 16:18-20…God abandoned Samson…and Samson didn’t even know it!!

1. God will abandon folks today, just as He did Samson, and as He did Israel…

CF…Jgs.10:10-11; 13-14…God abandoned Israel as a nation for a long period of time.

2. He has abandoned America!...Prov. 1:24-32

CF…in middle of 20th century, as prosperity increase, our wrongs increase also.

And America will be judged and be without excuse because she had full knowledge of the Lord.

America abandoned God!

Apostle Paul said:

I. ALL MEN KNOW THERE IS A GOD AND WILL BE WITOUT EXCUSE…V. 19-20

You see, man was made in the image of God, and man’s conscience speaks to him…

CF…even the heathen conclude there is a God…even with minds darkened they worship something.

        In India cows, etc…darkest Afraica, they worship something…

 Something tells man there is a higher being.

Cf…when Apostle Paul got to Athens, he found the people most religious…Acts 17:23

 Point made here is that God has revealed Himself to men in creation…there will be no excuses.

II. MULTITUDES HAVE CLEARLY REJECTED THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD…V. 21-23

 Mankind is without excuse for man began with a knowledge of God.

Cf…Adam did, Noah did, and the Word of God has been pass down generation to generation to those who listen.

 But man rejects Gods Word…and our society rejects it today in large enough percentage that God has abandoned.

A. AND IT IS EVIDENT IN THE AFFAIRS OF THIS NATION…as we look at our present situation.

Cf…so we had a stalker in community…we had witches come to town…what’s next?

        In mid nineties house representatives had one of the Islamic characters (in news today) pray before…

        Lord is letting us be overrun by those south of border.

        Islamic temples and sleeper cells lie in wait in America (no judge will allow temple be searched)

 God has abandoned America because America in large percentage abandoned Him.

III. WE ARE A NATION FULL OF REPROBATES…V. 24-32

Cf…reprobate is a person foreordained to damnation…
