Your presence here today goes a long way
Often times in moments like these we do not know what to say or if there is anything we can say to bring comfort to those grieving
Rest assured knowing that your presence here today brings comfort to this family
So again, thank you

her husband - James
son - Greg
three sisters - Naomi , Phyllis , and Thelma
and two brothers - Charlie and James
Mrs. Faye is survived by
daughter-in-law - Kathy
sister - Nancy
two grandchildren - Rachel and Carrie
one great grandchild - Caraleigh (cara Lee)
and numerous nieces and nephews

Remarks

As mentioned Mrs. Faye is was charter member at Charity and she loved this church
But not only did she loved this church but this church loved her
Since hearing of her passing on Sunday, I have had the opportunity to talk with many members both past and present
all of which expressed how much they loved Mrs. Faye
And after expressing their love for Mrs. Faye almost every one of them said the same thing about her
Mrs. Faye was a faithful lady
I believe that is because there is no better word to describe Mrs. Faye than faithful
She was a faithful wife
to James
She was a faithful member of her family
She was faithful to this church
apart of it from the very beginning
faithful to serve and love it’s people
through the good times and bad
She was not just a member of Charity Baptist Church
She was a faithful member
and her faithfulness to this church over the years has made a gospel impact on this community that can’t be put into words
an impact that will continue one even after her death
But most importantly she was faithful to her Savior, Jesus Christ
Mrs. Faye was saved at the age of 13
Meaning for 82 years she lived faithfully for her Savior
Mrs. Faye lived a long life a 95 years
a life that came with trials and tribulation
But she knew her where her hope was… in Jesus
She had full faith that Jesus
lived the sinless life she couldn’t
yet died for her sins
and rose again, defeating the grave
it was knowing this that allowed Mrs. Faye to live a faithful life for your Savior through all of life’s trials

Scripture

When preparing for today and thinking about the faithfulness of Mrs. Faye one scripture came to mind
Psalm 116:5
The ESV puts it this way
Psalm 116:15 ESV
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
But I believe the CSB’s rendering is more fitting for Mrs. Faye
Psalm 116:15 CSB
The death of his faithful ones is valuable in the Lord’s sight.
Think about that…
While we feel the sting of loss today, God calls it precious
It is valuable to Him because one of His children has finished her race and entered into His presence
Mrs. Faye’s life was valuable to us
Her smile
her presence,
and her faithfulness
they shaped this church and her family in ways that will continue for years to come
And her death, though it brings grief, is valuable to the Lord because it marks her homecoming
So today we mourn, but not as those without hope
We celebrate a life well lived
We celebrate the Savior who is always faithful
And we celebrate the promise that because Jesus lived, died, and rose again
Mrs. Faye is now with Him.

Prayer

Let’s pray together…
“Father, we thank You for the life of Mrs. Faye and for the faithfulness You worked in her. Thank You for the way she loved her family, her church, and most of all her Savior. Today, as we grieve her loss, we also rejoice in the hope we have through Jesus. That because He conquered death, Mrs. Faye is alive with Him now. Comfort this family with Your presence, surround them with Your peace, and help us all to walk faithfully with You until the day we, too, see You face to face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
