be an instrument of righteousness
the Spirit has given us that power
resist the devil, submit to God
say no to sin, yes to life

be still and let the Spirit speak

“Jesus, I denounce every evil way in my life.

I have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus. ”

3.  Trauma and Offence

Offence

Proverbs 19:11 NIV
A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.
unforgiveness gives the following fruit
bitterness
revenge
warped purpose in life
no peace
anger

Our Response

overlook the offence rather than hold onto it
some offences are serious and requires extra actions
may be civil action, maybe separation in a family
yet forgiveness must happen for your sake
forgiveness denies the devil
Ephesians 4:31 NIV
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
holding onto the offense leads to a death spiral
bitternes to rage to slander to malice
sin grows and unforgiveness is its fertilizer

The Elephant in the Room

sinful lifestyle gives the following fruit
guilt
regret
shame
vortex of sin
despair
Forgiveness then Repentance
forgiveness for the sinning
breaks the power of sin
been done by Jesus, must be activated by us
process of repentance
remove the act of sinning
replace with a holy lifestyle
Trauma
the impact of offense and sinful actions
our response must be scriptural
Romans 8:38–39 NIV
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
be filled with the love of Jesus
you are not the guilty one
you are not to play the victim
MTAC
Romans 8:37 NIV
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
conqueror sets the rules, the culture
more so in Christ - we create a holy place
in all things
Romans 8:35 NIV
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
no offense
no hurt
no trauma
no circumstances
Word of Caution
some offense, some trauma requires deeper ministry
allow the Spirit to go deeper
prayer is powerful
ministry is effective - from the right person
the Holy Spirit is the ultimate power of healing

Ministry

you are on the Rock and a wave washes you off.

It is not the rock’s fault but the wave’s.
