Intro:
We are in a war rather we like it or not. John 10:10 states The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.(NLT)
1 Peter 2:11  Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
There is a battle that each one of us fight daily.
For some of us it might be simply getting out of the bed each morning for work
For some of us it might be getting your children out of bed for school
For some of us it could be the struggle to go work at a place that you really hate.
Whatever the struggle or the challenge might me, we are in a battle daily.
For Ephesians 6:12  For we[d] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (NLT)
So For this weekend, we are dealing our theme is “The War of the Soul: The battle within”.
Define war: A contest between nations or states carried on by force to address insults or wrongdoings
Soul: refers to the whole person as a living, breathing individual, a complete integration of body, mind, and life force given by God (will)
Battle: A fight or encounter between enemies or confrontation or engagement.
However, this battle is not between two nations or two individuals, but one individual which is yourself.
Question: How many of you have heard others say or even you have said this statement: “The Struggle is Real”?
The struggle is real is a phrase used to describe a small, everyday frustrating situation or setback, similar to the complaint of first-world problems.
Everyday that we fight against that sinful nature or that weight that easily beset us and hinders us from reaching our God-given potential.
John 16:33 Jesus tells us “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (NLT)
James 1:2-4 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
struggled daily within our spirit man. Just so that you know, there is a daily battle between the flesh and the spirit.
The bible teaches us that we are Romans 7:15-25
