Introduction

Family, today we live in a world filled with uncertainty. Prices are rising, jobs feel unstable, health challenges are increasing, and people are worried about the future. But the question we must answer is: Who is God in the middle of all of this?
The Bible tells us He is Jehovah Jireh — The Lord Who Provides. And if there’s ever been a time we need to know God as Provider, it’s right now.
So today’s message is simple but powerful: When God Shows Up.
When God shows up in your finances… He provides. When God shows up in your health… He heals. When God shows up in your storm… He brings peace. When God shows up in your brokenness… He brings restoration.
Now in Genesis chapter 22 it shows us Abraham on the mountain — at his breaking point — but God showed up. And when God showed up, He provided a ram in the bush.”
Let’s look at the text:

Point 1: God Provides in Times of Testing

In Genesis 22, Abraham faced the ultimate test: God asked him to sacrifice Isaac, the son he loved and the very promise of God’s covenant.
Abraham obeyed, but just before he could carry it out, God provided a ram caught in the thicket — proving that He never intended Isaac’s death, but Abraham’s faith.
Abraham’s response — naming the place Jehovah Jireh (“The Lord Will Provide”) — shows us that God provides in the darkest, most confusing moments of life.

✝️ Supporting Scriptures

James 1:2–4 NIV
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Tests are not punishments; they are opportunities for growth.
1 Peter 1:6–7 NLT
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Even in testing, God’s presence is His greatest provision.
Financial Tests: Rising costs, layoffs, and debt can feel like Mount Moriah. Yet God often provides through unexpected job opportunities, debt relief, or the generosity of others.
Health Tests: When doctors give discouraging reports, God provides healing, peace, or the strength to endure through treatment.
Relationship Tests: Broken marriages, estranged children, or loneliness can crush the spirit — but God provides reconciliation, forgiveness, or the supportive community of the church.
Faith Tests: In seasons where prayers feel unanswered, God provides His Word, His Spirit, and reminders of past faithfulness to hold us steady.
"The ram is already in the bush, but you can't see it right now." That big break might not happen right now, but God has already planned it. You might not be able to see the healing, but God is already at work.
The test is real… but the provision is just as real.”
God puts us through tests not to kill us but to make us better. Every test gives us a chance to see Jehovah Jireh in fresh ways. The story of Abraham shows us that when God puts us in a tough spot, He also gives us the strength, the replacement, and the answer we need at just the right time.

Point 2: When God Shows Up He Provides Peace

John 14:27 NKJV
27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus knew His disciples would face storms, opposition, and uncertainty.
Hear me now Jesus didn’t promise a life without problems — He promised peace in the middle of them.
The Hebrew word for peace is shalom, which means more than just “quiet” — it means wholeness, well-being, and security.
Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Peace, acts like a shield against all the “worry” that comes at us , It is God's "guard" over our thoughts and hearts.
Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Peace comes when we focus on God, not the chaos around us.
Matthew 11:28–29 (NLT) “Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you… and you will find rest for your souls.’”
Rest for the soul is God’s provision in a restless world.
Financial Stress: Bills stacking up, inflation rising, and retirement uncertain. God’s peace reminds us He is our source, not the economy.
Mental Health Stress: Anxiety and depression are at record highs in 2025. God provides peace that medication alone cannot give — a deep calm for the soul.
Social & Cultural Stress: The news cycle, political division, and social media pressure make people restless. God’s peace cuts through the noise and anchors us.
Family Stress: Marriages stretched thin, parents worried about children, caregivers overwhelmed. God provides peace that strengthens relationships and restores balance.
“Some of you can’t sleep at night because your mind is racing… but Jehovah Jireh says, ‘Peace be still.’ Some of you are walking the floor, wringing your hands… but Jehovah Jireh says, ‘I will keep you in perfect peace.’ The world’s peace depends on circumstances… but God’s peace depends on His presence.”

✅ Summary of Point 2

When God Shows up Jehovah Jireh doesn’t just provide money in the bank or food on the table — He provides peace in the storm. Today , when worry, when fear, and anxiety are at an all-time high, we can lean on the promise that His peace will guard us, His peace will guide us, and His peace will keep us whole.

Point 3: God Provides Through Jesus Christ

Again In Genesis 22, Abraham’s ram was a substitute for Isaac. But that sacrifice pointed forward to the ultimate provision — Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.
When God shows up - Jehovah Jireh didn’t just provide a ram for one family — He provided His Son for the salvation of the world.
Jesus is God’s greatest gift, His ultimate provision. Everything else God provides flows from the gift of Christ.

✝️ Supporting Scriptures

John 6:35 (NLT) “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Jesus satisfies the deepest hunger and thirst of our souls.
Romans 8:32 (NKJV) “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
If God gave us Jesus, He won’t withhold anything else we need.
John 1:29 (NIV) “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’”
Jesus is the fulfillment of the “ram in the bush” — the perfect, once-for-all sacrifice.
You might be caring guilt and shame from past mistakes. Reminder Jesus provides complete forgiveness — no more condemnation. Forgiveness of Sin:
In a world where people are chasing likes, people are chasing followers, and people are chasing success, Jesus provides identity as children of God. He is our Purpose and Identity:
When God shows up there is Hope for the Future: today , that Uncertainty about tomorrow is high, but through Jesus , we have eternal hope that cannot be shaken.
Let me say this When life breaks us down, Jesus provides grace and power to keep going - he is your Strength in Weakness:
2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
“When Abraham lifted his knife, God provided a ram in the bush. But when the world was drowning in sin, God provided a Lamb on the Cross.
The ram saved Isaac for a moment… But the Lamb saved us for eternity.
The ram was for one man’s family… But the Lamb is for whosoever will believe.”
Lean In : - God’s ultimate act of provision was not money, food, or shelter — it was the gift of Jesus Christ. Through Him, we receive forgiveness, salvation, purpose, and eternal life. Every other provision is temporary, but Jesus is eternal.

Point 4: When God Shows Up - He Provides for Our Daily Needs

📖 Biblical Context

Matthew 6:25–34 NKJV
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Jesus reminds His followers not to worry about food, clothing, or tomorrow.
The same God who feeds the birds and clothes the lilies promises to take care of us.
This shows that God’s provision is not just for big miracles — it’s for everyday needs.
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
God’s supply is based on His riches, not our paychecks.
Psalm 23:1 (NKJV) “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
A shepherd meets daily needs: food, water, protection, rest. God does the same for us.
Lamentations 3:22–23 (NLT) “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
God provides fresh mercy every single day.
Today Rising food costs and financial pressures are real. God reminds us that He is still our source.
When you are worried about medical bills, When you are worried about prescriptions, and When you are worried about doctor visits. God provides strength, healing, and wisdom in treatment.
With technology and AI changing the workplace, job insecurity is common. God provides opportunities, creativity, and open doors no man can shut.
Loneliness, stress, and fear weigh heavy. God provides daily encouragement through His Spirit and His Word.

🗣️ Preaching Hook

“You don’t have to wonder if God will show up tomorrow — He already promised to.
He put food on your table yesterday… He’ll do it again today. He gave you breath this morning… He’ll give you strength for tonight. He carried you through last year’s storm… He’ll carry you through this one too.
If He takes care of the birds in the air and the flowers in the field… don’t you know He’ll take care of you?”
Jehovah Jireh is not just the God of emergencies — He is the God of daily bread. In a world where worry about tomorrow consumes us, Jesus reminds us to seek first the Kingdom, and trust that God will take care of everything else.
Ok let me close with this:

Point 5: When God Shows up - He Provides enough So We Can Bless Others

God’s provision was never meant to stop with us. From the covenant with Abraham to the New Testament church, blessings were designed to flow through us, not just to us.
When Abraham obeyed, God promised:
Genesis 22:18 NKJV
18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
When God Shows up - Jehovah Jireh provides in abundance so that His people can meet the needs of others and spread His glory across the world.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT) “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”
God’s supply always includes overflow for generosity.
Proverbs 11:25 (NIV) “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”
Giving is not losing — it’s planting seed for more.
Acts 20:35 (NIV) “Remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
The joy of provision multiplies when we give.
God doesn’t just provide money so we can hoard — but so we can help the hungry, the poor, the struggling single parent, or the unemployed neighbor.
A kind word, encouragement, or prayer can be the provision someone else desperately needs today.
Sharing your testimony of how God has provided can bless someone else’s faith more than you know.
Today , when so many feel isolated, the church must be a living witness of God’s provision by meeting real needs in the community.
“Family, hear me: When God shows up - when God blesses you, it’s not just for you. He didn’t give you that promotion just for a bigger paycheck… He gave it so you can be a blessing. He didn’t heal your body just so you can live longer… He healed you so you can testify of His power. He didn’t provide peace in your storm just to calm you down… He gave you peace so you can help somebody else through their storm.
When God shows up - Jehovah Jireh doesn’t make us containers… He makes us channels. And the more we pour out, the more He pours in.”
God’s provision is never selfish. God blesses His people so that His people can be a blessing. When we give generously, share freely, and love deeply, we reflect the heart of our Provider and point others back to Him.
“Family, I don’t know what you’re going through today… but I do know this: When God shows up, everything changes.
When God showed up for Abraham… the knife was stopped, the ram was revealed, and the promise lived on.
When God showed up at the Red Sea… the waters parted and His people walked through on dry ground.
When God showed up in a fiery furnace… three men went in, but four were seen walking in the fire — and they came out not even smelling like smoke.
When God showed up at an empty tomb… the stone rolled away, death lost its grip, and Jesus rose with all power in His hands.
And if God showed up back then… don’t you know He’ll show up for you right now?
He’ll show up in your sickness. He’ll show up in your struggle. He’ll show up in your storm. He’ll show up in your midnight hour.
And when He shows up… provision will show up, peace will show up, healing will show up, joy will show up, breakthrough will show up, and victory will show up!
So don’t you dare give up, don’t you dare lose hope. Keep trusting, keep believing, keep standing. Because your Jehovah Jireh is still on the throne.
And I declare over your life today… When God shows up — everything changes!” May God Bless You and keep you is my prayer
