· 15 viewsAfter Jesus was resurrected, the soldier’s guarding the tomb were bribed to lie about what they saw. Because the huge stone that was placed in front of the cave was moved and Jesus’s body was gone. There were only eleven disciples at this time because Jesus’s betrayer Judas took his own life. The disciple’s when into Galilee to the mountain where they usually hung out with Jesus. As soon as they saw Jesus they started worshipping Him. But Matthew recorded that some doubted. Why did they doubt? John 20:24-29 records the doubting of Thomas, but the term some is plural…more than one doubting.

I. Christ's Authority Matthew 28:18
The normality of meeting at a mountain, it is a familiar surrounding to them. When they saw Him they fell down to His feet and worshipped Him. But some doubted, so there must of been some uncertainty going on with them. The main idea seems to be going and making disciples. Jesus has been given All Power in Heaven and on earth! That means that His power is no longer constrained by the laws of gravity and human limitations. He walked through walls like the Upper Room Jesus came and stood in their midst.
In the book of John 21: 12-15. Jesus has all power in His hands! I was thinking about how the Air Traffic Controllers have authority over the airways but I found out that it is the FAA that has all authority over all the flights and pilots. They rule, manage, operate and control the air routes to ensure safety and orderly flights. With all authority Jesus rules everything in heaven and on earth, He manages the sun, moon and the stars and planets, and they have never even bumped into one another, ever! He operates controls over the needs of us disobedient human beings. And He left the Comforter with us.
John 14:15-18
As disciples of Christ, He is commanding us to Go make disciples, baptizing them and teaching them.
II. Christ's Command. Matthew 28:19-20
The passage shifts from the disciples shocked to see a resurrected Jesus to being given their marching orders, to gAs disciples of Christ and He is commanding us to go and make disciples, baptize them and teach them.
Go! If you can train up your children in the way that they should go, you have already made disciples of them parentally. If you have taught school you have made many disciples educationally, if you have coached children in sports you have discipled them in athletics. What I am lacking at times is the desire to disciple. How about you?
Go means to unite the believers feet, heart and destiny.
A sister at our church was sick for a while, so when she got well enough to come to church I told her that I had been praying for her. She looked me right square in the eye and said next time I should put some feet to those prayers.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.
