Timothy’s Faith and Heritage
The only way to live and to serve is with a pure conscience
Background info:
Paul is his darkest hour, wasn’t concerned with himself, but his concern was for Timothy
Encouragement to be faithful
Timothy was timid, suffered for physical ailments, and the the temptation was to let people take advantage of him and not to asset his authority as pastor
There was a church transition going on.
Paul was going to be executed and Timothy would carry on the work

a) The mind set of Paul, the seasoned soldier
Thankful / Honor to serve God
He served with a pure conscience
Despite His imminent death, Paul never lost focus of His calling and he was mindful of Timothy’s tears
Paul understands its a privilege to serve God
Former blasphemer and persecutor of the faith
Maybe Paul is reflecting as nears the end of His life
Its a labor of love
Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
But its an honor to come alongside of God’s people
