Business Cards arrived
Wednesday night service begins this week at 5:30!
Before we worship I want you to listen to this quote I read this week by Dale Davis:
The church has gone amuck by forgetting this very principle. We debate style of worship, formal or contemporary, worship teams with mike-power or choirs. We hear how worship must cater to felt needs. But it’s all abortive. The goal of worship is to give pleasure to God, the only and true audience. Anne Ortlund has given us the right words to say before public worship: ‘Lord, this church service is for you. I’m here to give you pleasure.’
May that be the intention of our hearts this morning
SCRIPTURE READING:
Psalm 9:1–10 “I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders. I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You. For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously. You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever. The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished. But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment, And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”

PRAYER OF PRAISE FOR WHO GOD IS
Lord, thank you for your constancy. For never turning Your back on us, for never getting frustrated with us, for forgiving our sins, for allowing us to be part of Your plan. We ask that You would look down upon this gathering of people and fill our hearts with great joy today as we focus on You. Amen!

PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION TO OPEN OUR HEARTS
Lord, give us ears to hear Your voice and eyes to see Your glory. Would you this morning illuminate Your Word and make it known to us? Help us no to make application to others peoples’ lives, but to apply every Word to our own lives. Amen

COMMUNION
I want us to Remember
Jesus said, “do this in remembrance of Me”.
I want us to think about this coming week. Even about today 2,000 years ago. Jesus knowing all things, in complete control, and what He would experience this week. And each day and its significance, especially that final night with His disciples. Knowing the cross was less than 24 hours away. Knowing the agony and suffering He would experience. Knowing the rejection from His disciples when He is arrested. Knowing that He would bear the sins of the entire world on that cross. That is what we are remembering today.
Since we are in Luke today, I want to read this account from Luke’s gospel.
Luke 22:14–19 “When the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him. And He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.” And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Luke 22:20 “And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.”
