Exodus 1 shows how God’s people, once welcomed in Egypt, become feared and oppressed as their fruitfulness is seen as a threat by Pharaoh. Yet even in the face of slavery and attempted genocide, God’s promises endure and He works through the quiet courage of the powerless to preserve His people.
