Useful to the Master
Becoming the Honorable Vessel.
Knowing the Truth
Letting Go of the Lies
Living out the Truth in Righteousness
Being Helpful to Him.
He doesn’t need our help, but He wants our help.
Sanctified: separation, consecration, and devotion to the service of God.
God sanctifies us to Himself through justification.
We sanctify ourselves to God through sanctification, that is, intent on becoming holy, becoming more like Jesus and following His example.
We are setting ourselves aside and doing whatever we need to do in order to make ourselves useful to God.

of horses ready for war.
The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
particularly the way of a king as was customary for oriental kings in their journeys
To make ready
For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight!’ ”
On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was being sacrificed, His disciples said to Him, “Where do You want us to go and prepare for You to eat the Passover?” And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him; and wherever he enters, say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is My guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ “And he himself will show you a large upper room furnished and ready; prepare for us there.” The disciples went out and came to the city, and found it just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover.
Jesus goes ahead of us to prepare for us a place.
We go ahead of Jesus to help people prepare a place for Him.
“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
To be ready
“For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.
God has things prepared for us.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
That we would walk in them.
Obedience.
Prepare for results
Not just preparing ourselves, but preparing to see the Lord do amazing things. And wanting to do those things through us.
but just as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man, All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
But leave the results to God.
It starts with God and ends with God
I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.
Why? So He gets the glory.
When I am weak, then I am strong - It’s the power of Christ in me.
And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
So He will furnish what is necessary for us to do what He wants us to do.
God prepares us to fulfill them.
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
God equips and teaches.
We commit to learn, grow, apply, and be faithful to accomplish.
Equipped - katatartizo - syn of hetoimazo
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
to furnish or outfit completely.
adequate - you will have what you need.
to make adept, proficient, capable - He will train you to use what He gives you.
to put a thing in its appropriate condition, to establish, mend.
To refit, repair, mend that which is broken such as the nets.
He will fix what the world and the devil have broken.
Metaphorically, of a person in error, to restore, set right.
rightly dividing the word of truth...cutting straight.
He will set the compass to true north and program in the coordinates.
adequate - artios
competent, proficient, adept, or capable.
The man of God will be competent because he has been equipped, outfitted, furnished with what He needs. God’s word is that which gives one the necessary skills and tools to be capable in performing every good work.
Don’t give up.
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
agathos - good,
Good works - agathos ergon.
He will furnish you with what is necessary to do what He wants you to do.
When God calls, He supplies. We’ll look at that a little more next week.
