The Structure of Amos:

A declaratino of Judgement against the nations. 1.3-2:16

The Reasons for Judgement over Israel. 3:1-6:14

Visions of the execution of Judgement. 7:1-9:10

A promise of restoration. 9:11-15

Main Point: God is justified in declaring punishment on both the church and the world when they abandon or reject Him.

God is the God of everyone

Amos is a prohpet because God called him. he didn’t seem like he a professional background.

He prophesied during a time of economic prosperity.

Justice Requires an Authorized Declaration (1:3-2:16)

God is a God who hates sin

Justice Requires Reasons (3:1-6:14)

Mentioned family and different personalities is hard

Justice is carried out through the execution of punishment (7:1-9:10)

Raise in michegan - bad cartels. David talked about gettin a knife to his stomach and his dad brought justice.

God’s Justice aims at Restoration (9:11-15)

The way to see the gospel:

We need the gospel most when we are tested.

Do not forget about the lion through prophets.
