Opener:
Hey Mama Friend, welcome back to your weekly breather, which is your time for a quick REST, a moment to pause and allow the Lord to replenish your soul and encourage you in your motherhood journey.
I want to remind you that YOUR INFLUENCE MATTERS:
Your legacy of faith matters.
Let me show you what I mean through 2 women of the word who are only mentioned once in the bible.
Lois and Eunice
LOIS. Mother of EUNICE and the Grandmother of Timothy. These two mamas are only mentioned once (2 Tim 1:5). BUT who is Timothy and how many times is he mentioned in the bible?
disciple of the apostle Paul
He played a significant role in Paul’s missionary work
He had a Jewish mother (Eunice) and Greek father
Timothy is named 17 times in the epistles (the letters of the NT)
6 times in Acts and once in Hebrews
Totaling 24 mentions
Lois and Eunice were mentioned once but their legacy of faith lived on through Timothy in BIG ways.
I and 2 Timothy were written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy, his young partner in ministry and is described as being like a son to Paul. He describes Lois and Eunice faith in 2 Tim 1:5 as genuine unwavering sincere faith.
when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
THIS ONE MENTION OF THESE TWO MAMAS MATTERS!
WHY? Because leaving a legacy of faith matters.
NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES: Lois defied culture norms by teaching her daughter Eunice and grandson Timothy in the ways of God.
Their unwavering faith, described by Paul as "sincere" and "genuine," withstood challenges of their time.
Mama Friend, today, this week, remember to BREATHE IN the FAITHFULNESS of GOD! He is faithful to you and He will increase your faith simply if you ask Him to do it.
Your legacy of faith matters and Your trust and faith will encourage others
You will make a difference in this world.
YOUR FAITH MATTERS!
I am going to leave the screen for 2 minutes so you can have your time with your faithful Father and lean into the pause, BREATHE IN GOD’S FAITHFULNESS and if need be ask Him to increase your faith.
