Ezekiel 34:11

God has painted Himself in a corner in Ezekiel 34.
In the Lord Jesus Christ we see Him in a twofold prophecy:
To the Gentile Church in Laodicea.
To the Jewish People in the Tribulation.
Here are three ACTIONS from the Lord Jesus Christ as Shepherd:

I. The Good Shepherd Saves With His Life.

John 10:11
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

2 Corinthians 11:13–15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

II. The Great Shepherd Sustains With His Life.

Hebrews 13:20
Now the God of peace,
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
that great shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

III. The Chief Shepherd Satisfies With His Life.

1 Peter 5:4
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
Illustration—One day near Jerusalem a shepherd awoke to find some Turkish soldiers driving away some of his sheep. He was alone and had no way of regaining his sheep, but suddenly an idea flashed through his mind. He waited till the soldiers were passing through a gulley and up a steep hill. Then he put his hands to his mouth and shouted in the same manner that he did each morning when he led his sheep out to pasture. Suddenly the sheep turned and rushed down the hillside and up the other before the soldiers were able to stop them. Then the shepherd quickly led them to a hiding place.
