LESSON

Words bring LIFE or DEATH!

Words are eternal and have long range influence or impact.

Words can heal or they can cut and maim.

Words can bring Forgiveness or bring judgement and damnation.

“Sticks and stones may break my bones, But names (words) shall never hurt me.”

WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR WORDS?

Haven’t words been the beginning of wars and the end of wars?

...and then you have the Hatfields and the McCoys.

LAST WEEK:

Romans 14:17–20 NLT

17 For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. 19 So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. 20 Don’t tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, all foods are acceptable, but it is wrong to eat something if it makes another person stumble.

There are TWO KINGDOMS:

GOOD — EVIL

God — Satan

1 Peter 2:9 NLT

9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Genesis 1:2 NLT

2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Before God Created man His Spirit hovered over the earth — over its void and darkness — then LIGHT HAPPENED.

TRUTH — LIES

God of Truth...

Psalm 119:160 NLT

160 The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever.

Satan a Liar of Liars

John 8:44 NLT

44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Every EVIL flows out of Satan such as in John...he is evil from his very core.

John 10:10 NLT

10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

From his jealous heart he was kicked out of the kingdom. It was a galactical war that had a quick outcome.

The CREATOR turned the tables on the CREATED.

FRUIT OF THE KINGDOM

Galatians 5:16–26 NLT

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

LOVING ONE ANOTHER IS A KINGDOM PRINCIPLE...

it is something we do because God’s light and goodness is in us.

Galatians 5:14–15 NLT

14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.

Another way of saying it is found in 1 John and in Ephesians.

Ephesians 6:11: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." 

1 Peter 5:8: "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." 

1 John 4:4: "In this you have confidence: Jesus Christ is the mediator of our faith, the God of our righteousness, the Savior." 

These verses serve as a reminder of the strength and protection that God provides to believers in standing against the devil and evil forces. By relying on these scriptures, Christians can find encouragement and strength to confront the challenges they face in their faith journey.

Read the Bible, God’s Word and instruction to live by.

Pray, talking to God but also LISTENING to God.

Know What You Believe according to God’s Word, don’t just believe something because the Hatfield’s or the McCoys believe it.

Hang-out with those of like faith that challenge you in your believe to love better, serve better, stand up against the enemy better, and worship better.
