Call to Worship

Psalm 145:1–3 “1 I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.”
Let’s pray.
Oh God,
You are our God and our King; may we, with the psalmist, seek to praise You forever and ever. You are worthy of our praise for your greatness is beyond all imagination.
We seek this day to honor and glorify You as we lift our voice in song, and as we meditate on Your word. May You be glorified in our worship this day.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pastor’s Prayer

Lord,
You have instructed us in Your Holy Word to trust in You with all of our hearts, to lean not on our own understanding, to acknowledge You in all of our ways, and You will direct our paths. Lord, I pray that You would teach us to trust in You, that You would teach us not lean on our own understanding, teach us to acknowledge You in all our ways, and Lord I pray that You would truly direct our paths.
I come before with a grieving heart. I grieve for the direction this world has taken — rejoicing in that which is wrong, and hating that which is good. You have warned us in Your Word that this would happen, but for those who follow after You it is heartbreaking to see it happen right before our very eyes. If we are so grieved, I can only imagine how much You are grieved.
Lord, I pray for the family of Charlie Kirk who have been left orphaned and widowed — Lord, be with them in a special way. Help them to properly grieve, without seeking vengeance, for vengeance is Yours to repay. Lord, this man’s death has not only affected his family. Millions of people have been affected by it. May you embolden us to stand against evil in the same way as this man did. May you give us wisdom to give an answer for the hope that is in it, as You gave to this man.
Lord, I pray for those who are sick, among us. I pray for Keith who was hospitalized this week with spinal stenosis. I pray for his healing. I pray for strength for Barb as she walks with him through this valley.
Lord, I pray for Michelle Allen and the problems with her knee. Provide healing and strength for her.
Lord, I pray for Sally who is recovering from surgery. I pray for a speedy recovery.
Lord, I pray for the group of ladies who have been away at a Ladies Retreet, I pray that this retreat has been a time of spiritual renewal for them, and that you would give them traveling mercies as they return home today.
Lord, I pray for Doug and Lois, who are always going out of their way to help others. They are traveling this week to deliver a car to their daughter who lives on the west coast. Give them safety in their travels, and a refreshing time as they see much of this nation during their journey. And bring them back to us safely.
Lord, I pray for this assembly of people, that Your Spirit would help us to grow ever closer to You, as You complete that work which You have started in us.
I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
