Matthew 12:34 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
"Beloved, the Bible says, ‘Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.’
That means your words are not random. They are not accidents. They are not slips of the tongue. Your mouth reveals your heart.
If bitterness fills the heart, bitterness flows from the mouth. If anger fills the heart, anger pours from the mouth. But if love fills the heart, love flows from the mouth. If faith fills the heart, faith flows from the mouth.
Your mouth is not a megaphone — it’s a mirror. It tells the truth about what’s really inside.
That’s why Proverbs 18:21 declares, ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue.’ Because when you speak, you don’t just communicate — you create.
Some of us are living in the world we built with our own words. Words that cursed our future. Words that sabotaged our relationships. Words that revealed the sickness inside of us. But God sent me with a word today — it’s time to watch your mouth and guard your heart.
Because if you want your words to change, your heart must first change. And if you let God heal your heart, He will anoint your mouth. He will take your negative speech and replace it with prophetic speech. He will turn your complaining into declaring, your whining into worship, and your sorrow into songs of victory!
Tell your neighbor:
“Neighbor, what’s in your heart will show up in your mouth!”
Now let’s look at 5 truths from this word…"
Point 1: Your Mouth Reveals Your Heart
Point 1: Your Mouth Reveals Your Heart
Whatever you hide in your heart will eventually come out of your mouth.
Don’t say, “I didn’t mean it.” No — you meant it. You just didn’t mean for it to slip out.
Jesus is saying, “Your words reveal what’s inside of you.”
Point 2: You Can’t Speak Right With a Wrong Heart
Point 2: You Can’t Speak Right With a Wrong Heart
If jealousy, pride, bitterness, or unforgiveness are in your heart, they will spill from your lips.
That’s why David prayed: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)
A healed heart produces holy words.
Point 3: Your Words Carry Creative Power
Point 3: Your Words Carry Creative Power
Genesis shows us God spoke and the world was formed.
Proverbs reminds us: “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.”
Your words are seeds. Every time you open your mouth, you are planting something that will either bless or curse your future.
Point 4: Your Words Can Heal or Hurt Others
Point 4: Your Words Can Heal or Hurt Others
Words are weapons — they can cut or they can cover.
Some of us are still bleeding from words spoken over us years ago.
But one encouraging word can heal wounds that medicine cannot.
Let your mouth be a fountain, not a fire.
Point 5: God Wants to Turn Your Mouth Into a Prophetic Instrument
Point 5: God Wants to Turn Your Mouth Into a Prophetic Instrument
When your heart is full of God, your mouth will speak the word of God.
Like Ezekiel, God will put His word in your mouth.
When you open your mouth, you won’t just speak opinions — you’ll declare promises.
You’ll shift atmospheres. You’ll release breakthrough. You’ll decree and it shall be established.
Tell your neighbor:
"Some of you have been speaking death over your life…
‘I’ll never make it.’
‘I’ll always be broke.’
‘Nobody will ever love me.’
We need Shut your mouth to the lies… and open your mouth to the truth!
Because what you say out of your mouth is shaping the season you live in.
If you change your language, you’ll change your life.
If you change your declaration, you’ll change your destiny.
It’s time to stop speaking fear and start speaking faith.
Stop speaking defeat and start speaking deliverance.
Stop speaking the problem and start speaking the promise.
Open your mouth and declare:
“I am the head and not the tail!”
“I am above and not beneath!”
“I shall live and not die!”
“My family shall be saved!”
“My body shall be healed!”
“My future shall be blessed!”
Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks — so if you want better speech, fill your heart with His Word. Fill it with worship. Fill it with faith. Fill it with promise.
Tell somebody next to you:
“Neighbor, my mouth is about to match my miracle!”
And shout it for yourself:
“I will speak what God speaks!”
“I will declare what God declares!”
“I will prophesy what God promised!”
Now give God a praise that matches what you’re about to say!"
(Congregation erupts. Organ modulates up. Room breaks into a praise break.) 🔥🙌🏽

"Family, the Bible says, ‘Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.’ That means if you don’t like what’s coming out of your mouth, you don’t need a new vocabulary… you need a new heart.
Some of us don’t need speech therapy — we need spiritual therapy. We need the Holy Ghost to cleanse us from the inside out. Because when your heart gets full of God, your mouth will get full of power.
Zechariah doubted the angel and God had to shut his mouth until the promise came to pass. Why? Because sometimes God will silence you so you don’t sabotage your own breakthrough.
But this morning, God is not shutting your mouth — He’s opening it. And when He opens it, He’s going to fill it. Fill it with praise. Fill it with prophecy. Fill it with power.
So I leave you with this: Watch your mouth, guard your heart, and let your words line up with your faith.
Preacher: "Say this with me:
‘I will speak life!’ 🙌🏽
‘I will speak victory!’ 🔥
‘I will speak promise!’ 🎯
‘I will speak breakthrough!’
Because my mouth will no longer betray me — it will build me. And the next time I open my mouth… heaven is going to back up my words."
(Organ modulates. Congregation claps. Preacher lifts voice.)
"If you’re ready for your mouth to match your miracle, I dare you to come to this altar right now. Open your mouth and give God the fruit of your lips! Because your next season is not in your paycheck… it’s not in your résumé… it’s not in your neighbor’s hand… it’s in your mouth!"
(Choir begins singing softly, organ carries, altar fills, Spirit moves.) 🙌🏽🔥
