Today is going to look a little different than usual

Original plan — Spiritual Maturity

I feel like lately I have been giving you a lot of information, but we actually need space to practice it

I know a couple of weeks ago, I shared from the Bible on how we are a new family in Christ, each person in this room that is a follower of Jesus

And family spends time to get to know each other

And I know a lot of you might not have made any friends or relationships in your time here

Christian Standard Bible Chapter 15

Therefore welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God.

40 “The one who welcomes you welcomes me, and the one who welcomes me welcomes him who sent me. 41 Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. And anyone who welcomes a righteous person because he’s righteous will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

We love God by loving others

this might be what you’re missing in your walk with Jesus

So we are going to spend time getting to know one another this morning

But there are a few things that I want to say beforehand

I know how difficult this can be for some of you

I would be terrified of this when I was in high school

We cant let what others think about us prevent us from getting to know each other

Do not imagine that if you meet a really humble man he will be what most people call ‘humble’ nowadays: he will not be a sort of greasy, smarmy person, who is always telling you that, of course, he is nobody. Probably all you will think about him is that he seemed a cheerful, intelligent chap who took a real interest in what you said to him. If you do dislike him it will be because you feel a little envious of anyone who seems to enjoy life so easily. He will not be thinking about humility: he will not be thinking about himself at all.

Let’s practice our teachings
