The church is unstoppable because it is willing to take risks for the sake of Christ. Stephen risked his life, Ananias risked his safety, and Paul risked his future. Faith without risk is comfort. The Kingdom advances when the people of God step beyond what’s safe.

Message Title: No Safe Church

ME: The last few weeks have made me question…

Am I really ready to wait and be obedient regardless of what happens?
Am I really ready to be bold for my faith regardless of what happens?
Tension these last few weeks
So now the question I’m asking is am I really ready to take the risks that following Jesus requires?

We: Because the truth is we live in a culture that runs from risk

We chase comfort and avoid risk.
But that WAS NOT the early church
So if we want to be part of the unstoppable church… we can’t be safe church

God: You have to understand what’s happening here first…

Stephen - Took the risk to say what needed to be said - Context of Stephen - Acts 6:11 - They speak up against him - Acts 7:1 - They ask him a question and he takes the risk of speaking truth - Acts 7:51-60 - He says what needed to be said and paid the price. - Acts 8:4 - Because of the persecution the word gets preached everywhere.
You want to be like the early church? It’s costly! Stephens death sparked a movement.
You want revival? It’s not cheap
Ananias - Took the risk to do what needed to be done. - Context of Paul and Ananias (He KNEW Paul’s reputation) - Acts 9:10-15
Paul - Took the risk regardless of what it cost him - Acts 9:16

You: Where is God calling you to risk?

The basic parts of faith are actually the hardest parts.
Risk speaking truth?
Risk obedience?
Risk surrendering?
Safe Christianity is NOT REAL CHRISTIANITY
What risk is God asking you to take?

We: Can you imagine if we didn’t just say it but DID IT?

Our mission statement - It’s not just words! That’s what they did!
We’re here because Stephen, Ananias, Paul, and every revival took a risk
And now it’s our turn

Alter Call: Take the risk

First Step - Salvation Surrending to Jesus and laying it all down
Second Step - Obedience Being obedient in whatever God is putting on your heart right now
Wherever you are at the answer is the same… No more safe Christianity. It’s time to take a risk
