John 17:1–5 records the most intimate prayer ever spoken. Jesus lifting His eyes to the Father on the way to the cross. Unlike the model prayer He gave His disciples, this is the true Lord’s Prayer, revealing His eternal relationship with the Father, His mission to give eternal life, and His desire that God be glorified through His sacrifice. Just hours before His arrest, Jesus prayed for His glorification, the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan, and the restoration of the glory He shared with the Father before the world began. This moment reminds us that salvation is no accident; it is the eternal purpose of God, accomplished willingly by Christ for us. How will you respond to His finished work?
