Remodel Week 2 – Assess the Needs

INTRODUCTION:

We all need to REMODEL our HOUSE

We are here studying HOW our Character, the way we LIVE needs to BE REMODELED

We are a WORK in PROGRESS

there is a REASON, ACCESSMENT, Planning/ Budget that all need to be planned and monitored daily

The process can be MESSY at TIME

BUT we must live our life ==== for the END RESULT

our HOUSE made PERFECT through CHRIST JESUS.

We need to know the PLAN in order to STRIVE Towards it.

Hebrews 12:2 “2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

GOOD MORNING

ACCESSMENT:

We need to remember that God designed us for relationship with Him,

and only because of Jesus are we able to have this relationship.

Last week we learn the reasons why we need to decide to remodel.

Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure.

The story of creation and Adam

God created the PERFECT “HOUSE”

Man brought sin into the world

—-

God sought relationship and the perfect environment BUT

sin to entered

thorns

work

brokenness

and separation occurred

Humans started in Paradise, GOT kicked out, SIN/EVIL entered, and then GOD solved that equation

WITH SOME GOOD NEWS

JESUS: BIRTH, TEACHINGS, CROSS, BLOOD/BODY, RESURRECTION

I want this to be a MESSAGE OF HOPE AND PROMISE

SURE —- there are messy situation in your HOUSE,

but

THEY CAN BE FIXED —— in fact CHRIST TELLS US WE ARE A WORK IN PROGRESS

we can start to look around and decide to DO NOTHING

OR we can be an active part of THE REMODELING

LOOK in the END

I don’t think you GET TO BE THE FINAL DESIGNER any way

You are DESIGNED BY GOD TO BE WHO HE MADE YOU

BUT YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE the TRANSFORMATION

and the JOY is the PROMISE OF KNOWING THAT

GOD WORKS IT ALL THROUGH YOU ___ FOR A PURPOSE

Jesus came to resolve this issue

We only need to accept and submit to HIM

— but that process IS NOT easy.

This series is about YOU

it is about the realization of the need of CHANGE in our House

YOU= INCREASING in CHARACTER of CHRIST DAILY

last week we SAW the need

and

today we discuss:

ACCESSing

the NEEDs

in our HOUSE.

WHAT MUST YOU DO TO FIX UP THE OLD STRUCTURE?

RECOGNIZE THE PROBLEM

The problem is a sin problem.

Romans 3:23 says

that “…all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God…”

THIS IS MAN’S GREATEST FAILURE!

It is not a problem of wealth, health, prestige, success,

but simply F-A-I-L-U-R-E.

F- Finances

A- Attitude

I - IDOLS

L - Lust

U - Unity Lost

R - RIGHTEOUS LIVING

E - Exercise Daily in the WORD

The failure to measure up to God’s standard of living for mankind.

THE PROBLEM IS THAT OF EXPERIENCING A HEART PROBLEM.

Jeremiah 17:9 says of the heart of man – “…the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…”

Satan is going to do all he can to convince you that your life is okay!

“Desperately wicked” is better translated as “incurably sick.”

Man’s condition in life is “terminal.”

It is only with a touch from the Master Physician that can make one well.

The Bible says in Matthew 9:12 – “But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

There is no cure for man’s sin except for the intervention of the Master Physician – Jesus Christ!

Mark 7:21-23 tells how the heart of man will cause him problems that man cannot fix in and of himself.

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Do you find that you have a heart problem?

If so, then what do you do?

We start to WORK ON A REMODEL !!!

We have Talked the last two weeks about the Reason

and last week you had some homework

To ask that question WHO AM I?

I pray that it was a good experience

FRANKLY — where you did it or didn’t do it

It will tell you something

The condition of your heart is revealed

I don’t say this in judgement BUT in TRUTH

WE ALL need to REMODEL our HOUSE OF GOD

for HE IS ALIVE IN US

You should have learned something about your condition

Ignore the REMODEL

DELAY the REMODEL

SUBMIT to the REMODEL

Romans 8:28 “28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

so where you did or where you didn’t you should have learned.

DID YOU WORK ON YOURS?

WHAT NEEDS DONE?

We put a few WANTS on our LIST

caused by the fact the BIBLE tells us

Romans 3:23 says

so Today we need to learn the process of sitting alone with GOD

we are going to give you a “checklist” from Col 3 and Eph 5 for you to PUT a few checkmarks

so you KNOW well — that flooring needs changed

and some are going to be revealed to you – “I never noticed how old my curtains are…”

23Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

— straight up this is my mission today

to motivate you to PAUSE – PRAYER – PONDER and PROCEED

Time to do a walk through….

It must concentrate on What GOD wants you to REMODEL?

I am learning everyone to stop pushing my agenda with GOD, and seeking to LISTEN

WALK THE OUTSIDE — How is my temple

OPEN THE FRONT DOOR — OUR HEART

you need a notebook, a pen and your camera

Application

we need to see the VISION – and to see it in our EYES

this is important

many marriages have issues because they don’t have an example of a great one

many jobs fail — you didn’t have a mentor to teach you right and wrong

you fail in relationship because you simply were not taught GOD’s WAY

You say I get to practice and do this work during the week before you even hear the teaching.

My experience wasn’t beautiful

And it certainly wasn’t easy

but brought hope and

focused on what we learned through the book of James == some PRACTICAL things we learned.. LIFE LESSONS

consider it joy that in trials of all kinds

That GOD is always seeking to define me — refine me

to the change me to bring him closer to him

I had to focus on the remodel

had to focus on what was ahead

Friends I was reminded of first Thessalonians 5:18 which says

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you

give thanks in all it’s a good and the bad the new and the old broken and the fixed

As I started to make my list this week—

my list and the list that was revealed to me were very different

in fact the list that was revealed to me contained some things

that I thought had been locked in a box and thrown into the river.

I thought i CHAINED IT LOCKED IT AND ROWED TO THE DEEPEST PART OF THE LAKE

The problem with it being thrown in that deep River is it still existed

I just was out of sight and out of mind I realized this morning

as I was preparing my message and I don’t think putting them in a box was a bad idea

I HAD AN I (EYE) Problem

I leaned on my own understanding — -I forgot to acknowledge HIM

I tried to do the REMODEL on my OWN.

I forgot in my DESIRE and DISTRESS

John 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I should have put them in that BOX – I should have cleansed myself

I should have desired to remove them and REMODEL

BUT NOT WITH OUT HIM NOTHING WITH OUT JESUS

You see assessing was not the issue

You know that putting them together was NOT the issue

It was not lifting them UP

so they could be prayed over

put them in a box so they could be destroyed easier

I took the destroying on by myself

I missed years ago praying through them and lifting them up so that God could use them or destroy them

as he soffit you see

I leaned on my own Understanding

I didn’t acknowledge him in all ways

I didn’t pray for him to make my path straight

Application

So you need to LOOK around your HOUSE

make a list —— WHAT NEEDS REMODEL?

We will talk in the next weeks about BUDGET, PLANNING, HIRING

as in a worldly house REMODEL ——- this is a MUST DO

SO we KNOW THE REASON, WE STARTED TO EXPLORE OUR HOUSE

Lets make that LIST and START TO PRAYER —— MEET WITH THE CONTRACTOR DAILY

JESUS has ACTUALLY ALREADY DIED FOR YOUR BUSINESS

6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
